Pretty sure I get nearly the same XP for AR Roulette as I do from Frontlines. More now for level 90 raids + Roulette if that pops.
Frontlines is just more engaging and feels overall a bit shorter.
When you queue for a roulette, you accept a certain degree of randomness. This randomness is compensated with the roulette bonus.Ive started playing FFXIV since HW. I always felt Alliance was a slog, took too long. Recently I have seen an effort from the team to make them shorter, 30m maximum.
All comes to, make it that Alliance roulette is not always level 50 and still be around under 30m in a normal everyday group.
Maybe everyweek change the level of the Alliance raid. So 1 week level 50 and so forth, or just make algorythm better. Open to ideas.
Just an idea - would love it!
If you want a specific raid, you can queue that raid, losing the bonus and with a longer queue time.
If SE implements an ally cycle, it means we have to wait even 5 weeks for a decent queue time. You see this happening when there is the moogle-farmingtomes-event.
btw, last week I had aglaia-aglaia-aglaia, because the players were using that for equip and levelling purpose.
I have 10,000 needles,
I'm not a weaver,
and I'm not scared to use them.
It's absolutely this. There's 24 people in an Alliance Raid and not only do they need to have done something other than CT just for it to maybe not be CT, but they need to have done the same one. Tataru's Grand Endeavor I think tried to fix this by making Shadow of Mhach a requirement and you know what? I see it more than NieR and certainly more than Ivalice nowadays. Not CT levels, mind, but not awful.Alliance raid depends on a few things, but the biggest one is probably that people don't go out of their way to unlock the extra alliance raids. Since they aren't an MSQ requirement in the same way as CT, some just genuinely aren't aware that they exist. I personally think that's a leading factor in why CT pops so much since they supposedly fixed the cheese strat of dropping ilvl to force CT to spawn.
I could have sworn something needed the Ivalice raids too. I can't remember what - just looked it up - it was Shadowbringers Relic stuff. Unfortunately as that gets more dated and less relevant I suppose less people will have done it.It's absolutely this. Exactly. That is a point that tends to get lost in the sauce with all the roulette discussion. There has been a huge influx of legitimate new players since Dawntrail, which can drag out the roulette because we have first timers and I have noticed it is throwing off the veteran players because its making alliance raids go longer. I think folks need to remember these roulettes are intended for players trying to complete content. Yes, we get benefits to it, but we aren't guaranteed a swift ride.
It's also why A-Raid roulette isn't gonna be tweaked any further than it already has (same with MSQ roulette, tbh).
At the end of the day, if ppl are bored with CT and wanna do the Ivalice or Nier raid, fine, they can queue for those directly. Otherwise, if they insist on clicking the optional roulette, they can accept what's thrown at them and keep it movin.
Yeah it was the SHB relic, and Ivalice popped up more during that time for Alliance raid too. But I think more casual players did Tataru's Endeavor than they did Bozja.
Yep. The adjustment they did for armor didn't help the CT problem at all. Totally pointless if people just use alts with nothing unlocked, or otherwise just don't.
But that's OK because I just leave immediately. If the team isn't going to respect our play time, I won't reward them with engagement over some gil.

You can also just queue up with a lower level job, which basically guarantees CT (for those this is applicable to).Yep. The adjustment they did for armor didn't help the CT problem at all. Totally pointless if people just use alts with nothing unlocked, or otherwise just don't.
