Instead of lowering or uncapping anything, I think they could introduce a twofold system if they really wanted:

- Week 1: Normal mode raid release with no change, same gear than usual
- Week 2/3: Savage mode release, and introduction of tokens for raid gear augmentation so that the gear stays competitive with crafted and the new tomes.
- Next odd patch (x.1, x.3, x.5 patches): ability to spend the same tokens now to augment a second time the raid gear in order to stay competitive with the augmented tome gear of that patch (which requires AR token coins). Would essentially be equivalent to the savage gear minus maybe dyability or whatever.

This would bring two main benefits:
1) NM raids would still get run for the whole duration of the tier, so over 2 patches, instead of drying up after a mere 2-3 weeks when savage releases.
2) Offering more gearing options to casual players that don't do savage. Having only tomestone gear with no serious competition or alternative feels really bad when you're not raiding. Not only it takes ages to gear a single job, but on top of it you can't customize anything and will have to eat bad sks/sps, anything.
