Final Fantasy games are meant to be fun and engaging at high levels. Even though level 50 isn't considered high now, the content was once endgame. It should offer some complexity, not just inflate boss HP and prolong fights, claiming that 3-4 mechanics looping constitutes depth as a makeshift fix.

This wasn't endgame content back then. Everything was melting by the time everyone was decked out in Darklight (the common tome gear at the time). The engaging endgame content back then was Extreme trials and BCoB, not this. You wanna have an engaging time with some level 50 content, gather some mates and do some min ilvl synced runs of Titan Ex, Twintania, or Nael. Good times right there.
