Only saw it once. Was wondering if Fern could make a comment about them. If they aren't going to show up again, could you tell us what the were originally going to be for, or if they will ever show up again?

Why did you censor Gods forfend?
Anyways like all of the 1.0 original main story it's been put on hold at least until 2.0. I doubt they will be throwing away the Ascians as they are pretty bad ass.
Tried making it alittle funny.

You guys are absolutely right with your assessment of the situation. Similar questions were answered by Yoshi-P just last week when he was in L.A. to do a slew of interviews with the media and various websites. Basically, the main scenario (the Echo, the Ascians, the Waking Sands, your Path companion, etc.) will continue once the people of Eorzea have figured out how to deal with the coming calamity first.
In other words "Ascians will soon be returned to the game where they will suck your soul out through your eye sockets. Please look forward to it!"
Heheh, sad I guess, I care more about where the ascians are more than my companion.
I think they're the minions of diablo :X

always looking for good people.
Actually aren't the Ascians involved directly/indirectly in all the 3 cities starting main stories?
Ascians, though my memory is actually foggy, are creatures of death and oblivion, isnt that right? (going to go in game and find that cs now, darnit)
My thought is, we will see them, upon return to Eozrea post-Dalamud catastrophe as so much death will draw them out on our plane. In a way I like the idea too, Ascians being beings of another dimension of entrophy and destruction, occasionally able to slip between dimensions when enough death occurs in a particular place to weaken the viel between our world (life) and theirs (death), so that they can seek out new souls. And when Dalamud does its thing, it weakens the viel almost eeeeeverywhere, allowing the Ascians to move more freely between their dimension and our own, killing and reaping.
Could make for a nice little storyline to, put you on the purpose of 'fixing' the viel between dimensions, undo what Dalamud did to our world, pushing the Ascians back to their world. Though if they did this, I would suspect we wouldn't really see the Ascians except in storyline instance situations, unless they decided to create an area in the game, like the creepy marsh place in XI, where death reigns and they are more common place.
I like the idea, I really do.
