The best part of Dawntrail?

Honestly Arcadion is solid, the Melee, tank, and healer role quests are good, Shaaloani (sp) is great. Some of the new zones are good, the meta lore is nice.

Pretty much everything but the main hero and villain up to level 99 are good. It's just...two of the most important elements in any story fell flat.

i mean the cutscenes look good... there are way too many(relative to playable msq content) and most we see is wuk lamat saying the same things over and over but it looks good

Well I want to say the best part of Dawntrail was the credits rolling, but that'd be a lie. The song wasn't very good.
It would probably be when Sphene tells everyone else "Shut up, and go away. I'm fighting this guy. He's the main character now"
Too bad they couldn't just let us have that moment for once. It honestly felt like the point of that scene was that Sphene underestimated Wuk Lamat, and that's why she failed.

There was also the moment when we went on a Capybara ride. When that happened, I said out loud "Holy crap, Finally. We split the party, and I'm not with Lamat. Watch, it'll be like three quests before the end."
The very next quest was the end.

All memes aside, I quite like the encounter design so far, even if I spent most of Everkeep on the floor because I can't read swords worth a damn. The music is generally a win, though the placement of some tracks seems a bit weird to me. In concept the two plots are actually pretty good, and right up until we have to discuss the second being bolted onto the first rather haphazardly I think they're alright—if it had played Smile over the ascension ceremony and then smash-cut to credits I would honestly think the plot was a win. The expansion did not need a world-ending crisis arc when the entire point was to be a palette cleanser to reset our expectations after Endwalker.

Basically if Dawntrail didn't reek of insecurity it'd be perfectly acceptable-to-good and worth the time and money. As it stands it is merely aggressively meh with unusually effective high points.

Best part of DT is not playing it coz even though it is an EXPANSION there is literally nothing to do beside raids

Hands down the playable content. Trials, Dungeons, and the Raids are an amazing step up from previous expansions, and I hope Square Enix keeps improving on that.
MSQ is something we only do once, but duties is what we engage with every day. That should be the real meat of an expansion.
(Yes, I am aware that on x.0 patches, the only thing one can do is the MSQ, Dungeons, and the Trials.)

hmm yes and no. I actually liked the encounters aswell, but for me 14 was always a story driven game which made me accept story locks more easy. But to think that they will force you to speak with Wuk Lamat 12 times in 5 minutes with every charatker for making the new coazy stuff which mostly have no real reason to be locked behind it looking at you island sanctuary, then i start to get bored again thinking if i want some nice glam or fun i have to suffer over DT story again and again [insert Meteon here] But encounters are great you are right here
