It's true. You get like 35 of them throughout the MSQ. It's enough for all of the MSQ as well as all of the side quests inside the Waking Sands and the surrounding area.
Even if it wasn't though. Set your Return to Limsa, use the aethernet there to the Arcanists Guild and the ferry to vesper bay is literally right there, and it's like 30 seconds slower maybe.
People overstate that as being a quicker route than the ride from Horizon, especially on a slower connection where you can get bogged down loading into Limsa. I timed both routes and they were much the same, but going from Horizon was less fiddly.
You get more than enough Aetheryte Tickets there now.
I mean, it's still a little annoying, but they don't have conference calls in-universe. (Can I get one as a MCH weapon? Please?)
