I'm really surprised no one uses this setup: WAR,WAR,BRD,BRD,BLM,BLM,BLM,WHM
BRD 2hr at start, BRD 2hr at aerial blast

This way when chirada/suprana pop main tank can switch to grab chirada (and collusion your top BLM for his flare) and 2nd WAR can grab suprana (and pull him on top of the tank) this way both WAR's can dps down suprana

key's to success: forcing aerial blast just after the 3rd wave of adds, identify [clock/middle/east] and getting into position quickly (tank/OTank pickup chirada/suprana)

This was our best strat even after war nerf....

BUUUUTTT...
LS seems hell-bent on 'but other people do this?' and wish to try new combinations of classes that just don't work as well for us. Sometimes I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall...

But yes, this strat still works. As does any strategy really that has a balance between elemental DD's and AOE DD's. At this point, it is best to use whatever setup your group is best geared in and has the jobs they have the most talent playing.

This however, doesn't keep people from the 'Tank, WHM, DRGx2, Bard, BLMx3' strat...cause it's 'the way people do Garuda now.'

I don't understand why this fight is so damn hard. Is there a logical reason why with only missing 1 plume during phase one she still deals 3500 dmg to everyone in the pt? What are we doing wrong??? I guess for those who were able to get on the BLM ban-waggon and get all their weapons in 1 sitting congratulations the rest of us have to deal with not understanding why even with near perfect plum clear we still wipe to AB. I'm so over this shit.

Come on, let's be fair here. Garuda is a pretty hard fight. No offense intended, but sometimes I get the feel that for many people around here, if their LS farms battle X, then battle X isn't hard.

There are a lot of players struggling against Gaurda and to even have a shot at starting getting wins the "average" player pretty much needs to get a consistent, good static party and spend a few days throwing themselves at it.

I swear it, as soon as more people start farming Ifrit Extreme, it won't be "hard" anymore

Our shell has just recently beat Garuda and we used WAR (Tank) WARX2 (DD's may have been WAR+DRG) BRD x2 BLM X2 and WHM.. Timing is very important on when you have her do her 2hr, as you can skip phase 2 and immediately go to phase 3 with clones. In the run we won we did we killed two sets of clones and finally won hardest part is getting this done with no deaths damn you relic quest lol.

Problem is the average player in this game is terrible, particularly on Ragnarok for some reason. I've done some pickups of Garuda out of morbid curiosity and I've counted too many BLMs rocking up in 5/5 AF and Aubriest's Whisper thinking they're going to stand the slightest chance.

If you try saying to them in the nicest way possible that their gear is terrible 90% of them just overreact and call you elitist.

We see many LS during ou Garuda run who are able to beat Garuda. So there is also a good amount of capable players on ragnarok

But for sure, garuda is not the kind of thing you can do pickup like ifrit or mog.

In order to succed, we had to work the strat during a long time with a solid group and now we are training other LS members one by one.

And i 100% agreee, full AF BLM cant succed in this fight, since most of the group doing it are skipping the laggy phase2.

I'm not saying that there aren't legitimate bad players (and PUGs are one of the most effective ways to find em), but I don't know...I just have the feel that, at least on these forums, you're forbidden to say that, hey, content X is hard. If you dare do that, be ready for people "correcting" you on a good day or downright question your playing abilities on a bad one.

Garuda specifically is two tiers above any other boss in the game bar IfEx, first phase (specially if skipping phase two) is a somewhat heavy gear check, second phase is so annoying that most LS strategies revolve around skipping it and clones require reasonably good tanking, positioning and plain HP burning skills to defeat.

It's not ball crushingly, "gotta try 100+ times to win" hard, and once you get the hang of it can be farmed without too much problem, but still is quite decently hard imo.

And before anyone checks to "discredit" my opnion, yes, I haven't beat her yet, it's on my plans. Tried very few times since I don't really have time to join my LS runs, sadly.

It's a gear/howmanskillsyoucanmashinto7minutes check. Unfortunately, a number of players can't keep up with that. The fight isn't impossible with AF. It just takes longer, and the longer the fight is, the more chances there are to make mistakes, making it harder to win. IMO, it is one of my favorite fights in the game, and I hope they don't change it because there is nothing wrong it as is.

However, when someone does come in and shit all over people who say it is difficult, I can imagine it is disheartening to be told "you suck lolol"

Yeah, I'm having trouble with Garuda as well... I don't have a static so I try and teach PUG groups. It's definatly a fight that requires a lot of practice and team work. Its hard to find that with random people, especially it one members experience is higher than the others and can't understand why others are having a tough time with it. Best thing to do is to just keep practicing with the same people and one day you'll nail it.
