The gremlins do shit talk you tho, so that was at least accurate. There's even a whole fate of them lol.... no? The size relative to the trailer is actually very consistent with how they appear in the game (A hyur is only about the size of their shin, same in the trailer). I mean if you wanted to make a pedantic point say "What the Hell we didn't even get shit talked by a furry imp in shadowbringers" not something that was actually consistent.
Nah, that trailer set the vibe correctly including monster size, (we kill light monsters and bring the night),but you're purposely ignoring the slides from the presentation and that's misleading af.
In DT we don't have the vacation vibe the trailer shows at all.
I do not consider FATE creatures to be true content ergo they have no bearing on the lore. Elsewise we need to have a serious talk about why a minotaur keeps kidnapping lalafell in Stormblood.
While I don't care about trailers being misleading, as they've always just been a tool to generate hype and sell you the idea of the expansion, the keynote address info has been kind of annoyingly inaccurate, as they try to sell you the "vacation", "fun adventure with your friends" and this "playful competition with the scions", but we practically get none of that. Not even in the first part of the MSQ (And whatever traces there are of it, it's completely trampled on by piss poor writing, but that's a whole 'nother matter)
Hyped up those slightly racist tacos only to get them curbstomped. I am beyond pissed. I don't see an issue in anything in the OP, it's more or less the modus operandi of their trailers anyway. Endwalker's trailer literally makes us think that the whole world is going through a Cataclysm, but in the end the only real zone "on fire" is a tiny portion of Thavnair as a dungeon.
However, I strong agree on Krile's situation with Pictomancer. There was SO much wasted potential... We don't get to see that specialization shine in an unique way anywhere (all we get is commonly casting Fire in Reds in a couple of scenes). Imagine if Krile used her powers mirroring the trailer scene, but in the HanuHanu parade, to enhance the visuals, since it was sort of improvised. Or maybe she could use a special type of 'Scenic Muse' to depict all of her family/friends around her parents to reassure them that she's well and happy in her life.
But then, thinking of it, even as a character, Krile didn't really get to shine as I thought she would unfortunately, so unsurprising that her job change is not a more striking presence.
Idunno about you, but I don't play FFXIV to be on a vacation so I'm glad (not that I did expect it to be) that DT wasn't what the trailer showed.
Work on the cinematic trailers starts far in advance of the work on the MSQ being completed. I'd be surprised if the cinematic team gets more than some basic storyboards to work from. If there are late cuts/changes to the story, it's usually going to be too late for the cinematic team to redo the trailer.
I do wish they'd bring back the team that did the Shadowbringers cinematic trailer. Even that one had scenes we didn't experience in game but it was much better than the last two cinematic trailers.
Well, I expected that I would explore a new continent and not play cameraman to a certain character like we did, so to each its own.
I mean, Y'shtola's little walk in the Endwalker cinematic would see her collide with the tables in the Rostra so...
