"The Adventures of RNG!" Top 3 Hamlet Provisioner

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to be sponsored by my Hamlet LS to go for a Top 3 slot. For those who have gone for the Top 3 you realize this is more of a group effort, meaning many sacrifice their time and fun for the benefit of the one.

Though the competition was intense, I came in 3rd. My LS was happy to see their hard work pay off, one less person needing seals, leading to the ultimate goal of us earning our Relics.

Last night we were able to run 6 Hamlets before it became too late to keep going (my LS is only 'part-time' hardcore). Each of those 6 Hamlets were wins with scores greater than 60K.

From those 6 Hamlets, I received 1 seal, and 5 sets of Ebonknots. Not only was I shocked at such a result, my entire LS was rocked to their core. The hours of farming and buying provisions had all but been a waste.

I understand RNG, however I believe in a situation such as Hamlet where community effort is a must to succeed, why would there be such a brutal system in place to punish everyone? If it were just my supplies I would be the only person affected, but this goes beyond that.

I truely believe SE needs to re-look their drop rate on Top 3 Provisioners. If SE wishes us to play and function as a Community, by George they need to support their Community and reward their efforts from time to time. Had I known the Top 3 Provisioner RNG was so bad, I would've never even tried.

I can only hope I cam sneak out early from work today and PUG some Hamlet later. I don't want to let my friends down...

They should consider that even with a 100% droprate, static groups need to do this 72 (seventy-two!) times to get all seals.

Place 3 is rumored to be 25%.

    That means
    1/4.
    2/8.
    3/12.

Should do a little research before blindly going for place 3.
I myself went like 2/16+. Need make more threads to whine about RNG.

And i disagree on changing the % on 2nd and 3rd place.
Don't have to make this even easier than it already is.

The challenging part is not quitting after 300 hours to get one item in a video game.

    YESSS!!!!

    100% agree on this..
Im already feeling so less into getting a relic after 9 tries at a DB stacked rampager and still not having one.

I Spiritbound over 200ish belts, bracelets and axes to get some TOR IV and out of those 200ish i only got 2 (TWO)
rest i had to buy the rest (about700~900 per) just to fail at the meld itself..

I aint gonna mess around with hamlet. going for #1 provi before doing it.. cant be bothered with RNG there too since i don't have a static or anything...

And totally stupid people keep saying "relics aren't for everyone" i agree. its only for those who get lucky....

The real waste is that you only ran hamlet for 3 hours after all that effort. Someone should slap your LS.

But yeah, I sympathize with you. Or rather, I would if we were blindly abstracting.

I won't blame my LS for this. We all have jobs, families, and IRL obligations. This is why Top 3 sounds so appealing, the chance to get more seals on shorter terms. If my LS could run Hamlet 10 hours daily why would we even bother?

I see provisioning as a way to reward players who don't have all day to spend on this game. Obviously SE doesn't agree.
