I Love the Endwalker Relic Series

I finished a Zodiac weapon for the first time a few months ago. It was long and tedious, but also very fun and rewarding. I'm doing it now on an alt character at current level, because it was just that much fun and memorable.

Resistance weapons are also a long, long process, however the most tedious steps are 1-and-done and don't need to be repeated for subsequent weapons.

Anima weapons are much easier/faster to complete and while most steps are indeed "hand over poetics", it's still a memorable experience and you get so many more glamour pieces.

Handing over 1500 currency/weapon is not memorable, fun or engaging. Yeah it's fine now for glam, but when it was current it was nothing but missing content. Not to mention it had the fewest steps/glam looks ever. Lame. Boring. Don't do it again!

I don't care if they have a tomestone step in for those who want it from the get-go. I just want a story and a setup similar to ARR/HW with specific parameters to fulfill. They could have done with this Endwalker's version by having the items buyable either with tomestones or accessed through quest steps linked to specific content.

They'll likely be tied into the new field operation this time around, like with Eureka and Bozja
I just hope if they do that they actually provide a bonus to the zones like the Eurekan ones giving you elemental bonus since I don't think the Bozjan relics gave you anything which bugged me a lot

Regarding the endwalker relics I don't really have any strong feelings on how they were obtained, though I do agree they were a lot easier to get this time around but whether that's a good thing or not I'm not sure. Personally I don't mind the challenge and it does make them feel more rewarding.

I didn't really care for their design though, as an aside. I like it when the relics have unique looks and want them to better reflect their class like the artifact gear does.

They stated that there will be multiple paths for people to take, implying a quest that will be independent of all other content that allows you to progress it through separate forms of content in various ways. We've already been told its not just tomes. I think you also need to understand that they have admitted, outright, that the relics are not tied to the Exploratory Zones, but they have been tacked on as the carrot on the stick to get people do them. Exploratory content is not relic content, relics just get shoehorned into it because they fear no one would do it otherwise.

Exploratory content is not relic content, relics just get shoehorned into it because they fear no one would do it otherwise.

Bozja still this day is the single most interacted non MSQ or roulette content in the game so I’m pretty sure they are safe from not being done

Something Yoshida himself has mentioned wanting to accommodate in this next relic series is those who don't want to involve themselves with that kind of content. So while the wording may be similar, they know better than to tread the same path after they've told people they can implement it in a way that doesn't lock people to a reskinned fate grind—as that is literally all exploration content is.

I mean you are fine to not like exploratory content but if you go by Bozja numbers in ShB they are likely going to chase that high again. At alot of points in ShB Bozja had more people completing it than eden NORMAL.

However I have no problem if they just did the ShB relic - the forced delubrum progression as that makes everyone happy but I also wouldn’t be surprised if they did enforce progression in the field content zone given how popular Bozja was

I've had to rewrite this a few times because I'm not entirely sure how to respond to this post.

Given their history with both Eureka and Bozja I didn't think it too outlandish to claim that they would be tangentially related in some way, shape, or form.

With Stormblood relics, you are required to do that content to get the relic, something I have yet to even do because I have to complete BA. The relic provides you an elemental bonus which helps you in that zone, making it still useful to get for those that like that sort of content and why I personally want the Dawntrail relics to provide a boost similar to that if they follow the trend of having them related to the field operation. This does not mean I want the relic locked behind this content either, but if it's related in some way, then I'd like to have a bonus equipped because then it would still be somewhat viable, even if it has the niche use.

For Shadowbringers, you still had to do that content up to completing DR which requires a resistance rank of 10 I believe, which on release wasn't the quickest to get to because the mettle that you obtained at the time was very minimal.

It's why I think that the Dawntrail relics will be tied to the field operation, and the alternative methods they mention might be similar to how you could still get the material drops outside of these zones but at a reduced rate. The only thing I would want from this is to not prevent progress on the relic like they did with CLL and DR which I hope would appease most people.

Personally, I'm happy that it isn't a tomestone dump again and that we'll actively be working towards it whether it be with field operations or not. I understand I myself am biased because it's my favorite content in the game and the relics are not why I do it.

Absolutely not. No thank you. No god please no, nooooooo. Gotta stop it. EW relic was garbage. I want a grind for a special weapon. Gives me something to work towards, Instead of "oop look at that I got enough tomes to get a relic yippee!" Type crap. It was literally a passive relic to get. Not involved in any way.
