Suggestion to Forum Mods: Copy ESO's Forum Rule

normally this is something i would agree with but typically nowadays one alignment is considered "safe and fine" and another one is considered "divisive". so whatever is deemed to be fine would not be held to the same standard as the other. but if both sides COULD be held to the same standard then it is something that i would be happy to see.

I would like to recommend that the Forum Mods copy an important part of a rule from ESO's forums, which is also similar to some other forums I visit:

These days it seems the forums are being taken over by identity political discussions. This topic is divisive and has nearly no relevance to sharing our love of and feedback for Final Fantasy XIV.

I don't need to know the political leanings of anyone here - and in fact I find sharing this to just be disruptive to a productive forum experience.

People don't consider bad voice acting to be political; what a silly thing to suggest.

I didn't say it was political. You did, you tried to make it political. All I said was that nobody notices unless you do a horrible job of it.

As for the "political" stuff, the VA did that. See once people notice your publicly doing a horrible job in something they enjoy, they start looking into you, and that means they find out what you try and push. And people aren't liking what this VA has to say, both in game and elsewhere.

Any talk of trans on either side falls into politics as it's a major part of the USA's political speech I think.

Why not make a Real World board and then have a rule that limits real world matters to that place? We get the majority of forum space to discuss the game and matters relating to it devoid of extraneous real world cultural/political arguments and those people who do want to inject their real world culture/politics into everything have their board too.
