This pretty much pretty much nailed it. It feels Awkward to say it, but I have no issue with Sena in general just her behavior. Specifically more recent behavior, and it's weird in hindsight that I hesitated to say that, to Shibi's point.

So, I think this is why you're seeing so many "foul" opinions. Because people hesitate so much in speaking about someone's genuinely terrible, racist behaviour because they're a "protected" class (speaking in the loosest of terms here.) - people see no pushback towards something that should by all rights have pushback, so you see people from different cultures or beliefs pushing far harder than they would normallly to be heard.

Genuinely the best thing you can do to ensure that gay, bi, latino, black, trans, whatever else people are treated like everyone else, is to just treat them like everyone else, and stop trying to walk on eggshells because "Oh, I can't speak badly about them, they're (X)! - doing that kind of stuff just makes it worse.

Agreed in full, and in my real-life that would be my standard: but we're on the internet, and I've no intention to risk inciting the fury of the wrong person on the wrong day and tumbling my way into getting banned from my silly adventure game for that intent. I generally just leave that side of the mess alone entirely where viable these days, it's just too dangerous to engage with. Even if the individual you have discourse with is reliable, intelligent and communicative that doesn't mean others will be and doesn't mean a mod will be.

He was aquitted on grounds of generalized misanthropy. He hated everyone, but equally.

On a more serious note, you're exactly right. People need to be held to account for behaviors they control.

Race? Gender? Orientation? No real choice in that, ignore it.

But everyone's got an ***hole, just wish they'd stop showing it. It's frustrating, because I have trans friends. I want them to get the care, love, and respect they deserve as human beings.

Defending this sort of behavior hurts that. It makes people cautious, then frustrated, then angry. I'm convinced some of the 'hateful' people I've seen aren't even hateful, they're just tired of that eggshell walk. They want it to go away, and they're tired. It's the verbal equivalent of an exhausted, overstimulated cat swatting at you because it wants rest.

Anyone who genuinely supports LGBTQ stuff needs to be the first person to disavow malicious behavior, and hold these people to account. If malicious behavior is allowed to become associated with who you're trying to help, well... one must imagine Sisyphus happy, I suppose.

That's basically it. Are there people that disagree with the western interpretation of these things? Yes. Is that fine? Also yes. Are a lot of these people being pushed to an extreme and voicing themselves in a far more agressive manner because of the egshell nonsense? ABSOLUTELY yes. By stifling diaolgue either actively (banning, censoring) or passively (electing to not criticize something that rightfully should be criticized), people are actually pushing others towards extremes. The way to make sure folks aren't radicalized and respect one another is through dialogue and exchange of ideas, not calling one side ists and phobes and the other slurs.

I agree with you and the other poster.
Treat me with respect and I give you respect back. Don't give it to me and you don't get any. You don't earn respect if you act like an arse hole and you don't magically "gain" it if you're a specific race/gender/whatever else.

I think she should be cancelled for her horrible behavior at this point or at least let go if square enix wants to keep at least a tiny bit of good reputation left. Susan calloway was cancelled and let go for much less and for simply following certain people and if the company keeps sena for "diversity" or because there afraid of backlash from certain communities then it would prove square enix is hypocritical.

Apparently Susan liked transphobic and anti Islam tweets 3 years ago or something and follows Jordan Peterson and Ben Shapiro after people dug through 3 years of tweets and threatened violence at a fan convention she was set to appear at. Since all that happened Susan hasn't appeared at a single distant worlds concert or worked for square enix since last October so I assume she was let go or pulled from her contract sooner then it ended.
