Back on topic, I keep seeing people say that Sena is a personal friend of Kate on the localization team. Do we have any solid evidence of that claim? Because I keep seeing that get posted with no source. I would like to know if that's true though, as that would look like a major conflict of interest.

Does it seem impossible to think that? You're an amateur voice actor given the role on a top mmo game of a character that is in front of the player for most of the expansion. How do you get that role without being a friend? And do not say on talent. We already determined enough that is a lie.

I have nothing against LGBT, you're are free to like what you like, to be what you want to be, and to live your life the way you want.... But, i can't stand when people try to change things just to accomodate or promote some ideology.

And you just brought up another case of the transformations people are trying to push. The word "trap"... There's a push to remove it from existence. Even in RPGs, they're trying to remove it. Recently, the FFIV randomizer community decided to remove all instances of that word, and replace them with "MiaB", or Monster in a Box... It's so god damned stupid.

Can't wait for the official announcement saying Estinien is actually a Trans and 8.0 story will be HER journey to embrace her new identity.

The only thing I'll be embracing at that point is the unsubscribe button. Maybe even the "Delete Account" button.

This wouldn't be a conflict of interest, and would only matter if Sena wasn't qualified for the job or was granted the job ahead of someone more qualified due to the friendship. In that case it would be nepotism. Helping your friends get jobs they are qualified for is a perfectly fine thing to do.

They were mutuals on twitter for a long time, and have interacted a few times on twitter previously.
There's also just context clues. Sena is an amateur union VA. Basically no one knew who she was prior because everything she voiced prior to FFXIV were small roles in niche media. So why then is she given THE lead role in a new expansion?
All blame is on the voice director and localization lead for it. I really don't blame Sena for anything (ignoring some of her sketchy twitter posts)

I'm not sure if they're friends but i'm pretty sure they're the same species, the woke one.
