Agree about the part where she shouldn't be harassed, but if she had a kind personality on Twitter she would get more support - even with a bad performance.

You are free to tell them that. I think it is a waste of time but you are free to voice your concern and issues that is not what I am talking about.

My reply was to the person that stated Bridget was not trans. In this moment in time they are 100% trans. The motivate or reason behind the change does not change the fact the developers changed their story and made the character trans.

Sure it seems like BS and screams some weird PR play. That being said I have no way to confirm or deny their intentions behind the action. If I cannot prove otherwise I will take the persons words at face value.

I will not spread unverified claims such as x person is lying. I cannot prove that so i will not speak of it as fact.

My opinion is when you retcon something, you are creating a different continuity. I consider this a retcon and thus the current Briget and the original Briget are not the same person. One is a trap and the other is trans. It's like with Dragonball GT, it was considered cannon by Shueisha and Akira Toriyama and they they changed retconned it as if it never happened and continued with Super. You may argue that it was an entire season that got retconned but there has been many smaller retcons in the dragonball series.

Well, Bridget was just breaking gender norms back in the day by being a very feminine guy. But I have the feeling, that this isn't supposed to exist anymore in the world of today. I mean, feminine guys? That can't exist, those must actually be trans right? Because being a guy who looks more soft or androgynous is impossible. You either a bulky manly man or trans.

I feel like this is a step back, actually. People used to say that it's sexist to say things like 'boys can't wear make-up' or 'girls don't play with cars'. Which is inherently true, it's sexist.
But in todays world, if someone doesn't fit the gender norm, they have to be trans right? Dangerous mindset...but unfortunately very common.

Also, this just feels like a retcon or a change to the canon to please the fans. But of course it's hard to prove. Like many things that get changed later on a whim by the directors or authors of certain games, books or movies.

I'm going to go off topic, but I was involved with a small circle of trans people in tumblr and being the only non-trans person made me feel alot of pressure to try and fit in. I tried my best to be respectful and mindful and I felt out of place no matter how hard I tried to understand or relate to them. I even remember thoroughly researching youtube and listening to the experiences of trans people to try and at least not be inconsiderate. (And at some point I did question my gender due to how much they talked about being trans/transitioning- but I can't blame them this is something that was obviously important to them but not something I related to or wanted)

I remember we were talking about Alucard from Castlevania Symphony of the Night...and they kept telling me that he's 'trans' and got yelled at when I even questioned it. He's canonically a man.

This was like 7 years ago. I find it so strange when people project their sexuality/gender onto something that...never had it. It was never up in the air. He was always referred to as male, son and so on. He just...looked feminine.
