With Apologies to Sena Bryer

I believe the current situation of outright hatred in these forums toward Wuk Lamat has grown enough to draw attention to a very serious matter.

Many of you have very respectfully given feedback on a few of the elements you’ve found needing adjustment, along with suggestion to improve them. That’s what the forums are for. Many, many, many others of you, multiple times, have openly voiced your disgust, contempt, outright hatred of said character for ruining your experience in Dawntrail.

And now, a few of you, for WHATEEEEEVER reason…have felt justified in doing the above. This particular brand of malice, like I said in another post. . .is disgusting. I’ve been playing 14 since 2.0 and I have not once seen the collective community go behind the scenes/character to do what’s transpired here, be it this forum, Reddit, wherever. Her performance sucked
Sorry to hear she's suffering about it but this is the internet and you can't 100% police everything people will do. Ignoring incels who send death threats is the best course of action because nothing they say matters.
Will never understand when people complain about this when blocking people has never been easier and ignoring them is the easiest thing to do.
There's been plenty of praise for her on twitter! Interact with those! Acknowledging the idiots just gives them cause to do it more because they KNOW they got under your skin!

Sena Bryer is not Wuk Lamat. Hating a character does not mean you hate the person who played the character. Hating Joffrey doesn't mean you hate Jack Gleeson.

Sena Bryer is not her performance of Wuk Lamat. Hating her performance does not mean you hate her. I hated the writing of DT and I express that several times a day. Yet no one has accused me of hating Daichi Hiroi. People have however accused me of hating Sena Bryer for hating DT's story, like she wrote it or something.

Two things are being conflated here, bigotry and dislike of a product we paid for. Bigotry is bad. Don't be bigoted, but if you pay money for something and DT is what you get, you have every right to complain because the quality of DT was downright disrespectful. It was like no one looked at it.

Leave Sena Bryer alone, she couldn't have saved this story if she was the best VA in human history, but also, those who are conflating hatred of a trash story with transphobia, please stop also.

You're really trying to blur those lines here, aren't you.

Wuk Lamat was an absolutely miserable character.

Wuk Lamat would not go away, and stop making everything about themselves.

That's why we hate Wuk Lamat. That has absolutely nothing to do with the VA.

Meanwhile

The VA did a dog water job of acting. That's why we were upset.

The VA previously acknowledged that they sucked at the exact type of role they took, because the "industry is keeping her down, man". That's why we were angry.

The VA regularly says terrible things, crapped on an innocent victim because they were a woman and stealing their victimhood points, and showed just how vile and misogynistic they are. That's why we are currently at the point of hatred.

So no. You don't get to say that we hate anyone because they were Wuk Lamat. JP players hate Wuk Lamat too. That's not what's going on here, and you know it. You're just as bad as the constant barrage of buzzwords everyone is throwing at valid criticism.

I like the character but her English voice was not to my liking, I switched to JP. I do think she was either wrongly casted for the role, and directed poorly. Just my two cents,

What is the point of of this thread? Grand standing?

- If you have problem with some particular posters, report them.

- If you want to apologize to the VA, make a twitter account and do it directly to her feed, I'm sure she'll like that.

But given even the content of your post had nothing to do wit the tittle, I can't help but feel this is just a manipulative attempts to paint a broadstroke so you can parrot the points around.

This like sometime some people think American as a whole need to apology to the world because of a few nut cases.

Yes there is malcontent, there will always be malcontent. But as a whole I don't feel this forum need any apology, or need any individual claim to apology on another behalf. As harsh most people sound, the criticism are at least legit and honest. Can you put your arm on your heart and say your intention is the same?

The problem is that certain group of people keep labeling disagreements as transphobia and bigotry even when those labels don’t apply.

You’re given an explanation why something isn’t inherently hatful or transphobic. However, instead of engaging in discussion by means of either debate or persuasion, you immediately called it hateful, leaving no rooms for communication and understanding. I personally find it toxic

The same goes to people in other VA threads. Those people keep getting offended on some else’s behalf. They’re given reasons to why people refuse to abide preferred pronouns. Not once did they put any effort in explaining why something is transphobic. They just threw labels around, with no intention of communication and understanding. They not going to change anyone’s mind with that attitude.

People throw labels around on the internet. I’m used to it. However, bigotry, transphobe, and hateful are labels which should not be taken, nor used, lightly because such accusations might potentially get someone banned. That why I vehemently oppose the misuse of these labels. If you really want this forum to be a better place, please stop abusing these terms.
