Well damn, this thread ain't gonna last long then. From what I've seen in the past on these forums is threads that devolve into endless sociopolitical debates end up being deleted anyways lol.

Yeah it’s kinda sad that some people from both sites can’t have decent human conversations anymore. Everything devolves into this poop throwing contest we’re both sites try to smear each other in a bad light.

I found DT story super mega meh boring and the English voice acting from the character that was in the limelight for 90 % of the story wasn’t good enough and had no emotional reach and I for myself didn’t care the VA was trans and only after finding out I’m actually more curious if the choice was DEI or a friend hiring this person because any decent voice director worth his salt would take 200 % another voice actor after hearing voice clips were the VA has to shout or put emotions into the character and sentences.

Why is this such a big deal. Before all of these threads and posts I had no idea who Sena Bryer even was much less what her gender identity was. The VA for Wuk was just a bad VA to me and nothing more.

Because both sites have people that are arseholes. You have the transphobic critics that use slurs and the you have the defender site that calls all critics transphobic even if it was valid criticism. And then you have decent humans on both sides arguing over these hyper cases and ripping each other apart. It’s a sad state of affairs

No she didn't. She said she'd received death threats, but that doesn't entitle you to see footage of it. Again, reporting it to the police is more important than showing it to you. Who are you to her?

Her saying she's received death threats is making it public. And her whole response was replying to someone with actual criticism about her character. Nothing to do with anything she's spouting about.

Death threats are never ok but at the same time, people are going to care less when it's from someone who constantly claims to be the victim in scenarios when she isn't even the topic.
Cry about everything all the time and people won't care once it's a real problem.

To play Devil's Advocate ... Criticism can be harassment, especially if the one on the receiving end didn't ask for it and is receiving a lot of it. I 100% that Sena feels like this is harassment.

Unfortunately, Voice Acting is an art form. Every time someone voices anything, people will form opinions, and they will share these opinions, especially if they paid for it. This issue isn't unique to Sena, a lot of people in Media have these knee-jerk reactions nowadays, but coming out as a victim never works and I don't know why so many go that route. If she had an honest heart-to-heart, discussing maybe the development and her struggles with the role, people would probably be kinder to her. It wouldn't fix everything, but at least you wouldn't have people claim she's lying or earned it.

Bringing attention to the toxicity in this forum is warranted. It's not the entirety or a majority of the community that's hateful, but it's enough to be noticed on multiple platforms, including this one. In this very thread there are users who have made personal and discriminatory attacks against Sena Bryer, and I'm sure the other usual suspects will soon turn up to talk about how she is "misgendering [herself]" like that makes hatred valid.

I get your frustration in seeing posts about this, but the hate is very much present, and I'm okay with bringing up the problem until the moderators do something about the troublemakers.

Except now every legitimate criticism is buried and instead of the discussing the game we're discussing this stupid drama for nearly two thirds of the year at this point.
