Aside from that how do you tell a DPS is doing a good job

They use their defensives, they dodge avoidable shit and resolve mechs correctly while keeping uptime, their buffs stay aligned, their enmity is roughly where it should be for the expected output of the job and/or is right behind the tanks

It's pretty easy to tell if a dps is putting in work, even if you're not parsing and can't check the numbers directly

The reason its biased apart from the obvious that tanks and healers do the most work, is the experience level of players in general not being able to recognise the skillful contributions DPS make sometimes worthy of commendation.
