GOOD DPS players deserve commendations, specially when you get people who pull off enough damage to noticeably shorten the fights.

They use their defensives, they dodge avoidable shit and resolve mechs correctly while keeping uptime, their buffs stay aligned, their enmity is roughly where it should be for the expected output of the job and/or is right behind the tanks
It's pretty easy to tell if a dps is putting in work, even if you're not parsing and can't check the numbers directly
>tanks do the most work
lol
lmao even
The reason its biased apart from the obvious that tanks and healers do the most work, is the experience level of players in general not being able to recognise the skillful contributions DPS make sometimes worthy of commendation.Always irks me that a bad Tank or Healer will always get coms long before a good DPS (Especially if you are phys Ranged).
So bit of a request to people.
If you see a DPS do a good job? Give them a com instead of the Tank who couldn't hold Agro, of the Healer who AFKed only using Regen.
I get it, DPS doing a good job isnt as visible as a Tank or healer, i know WAR DPS is above that of Phys Range and in some cases Magic DPS.
Nothing like being DPS, pulling a clutch win on that last 1% with everyone else dead only for the Tank or Healers to get the full 7 comms lol.
We might see a few less toxic mentors if they cant simply farm coms on Tank/healer to get there in a day or two.

If you get my commendation, it means I want to ERP with you. But you won't know it was my commendation since they are anonymous :^)
My favorite part of all these theatrics is that even when people know it's 2 alts arguing with each other, you still see about a 50/50 split of Likes between one post or the other.
The entire world, united together under the banner of, "I don't care, as long as the sockpuppet is saying something I agree with!"
I don’t care for commendations and I very rarely commend others. But when I do I only do it based on their performance in duties, never based on glam.
A tank that can hold aggro, knows how to mitigate and how to interrupt the enemy, even uses groupwide shields or heals if need be? Commendation.
A healer who doesn’t solely focus on breaking their own dps records but focuses on the party’s HP bars, removes debuffs if possible, uses shields or barriers and actually heals in time so the DPS won’t go down and has to suffer under the weakness status for the next 1,5 minutes with a bunch of stats reduced by 25%? Commendation.
A DPS who avoids AoE fields, knows mechanics and his overall combos and uses his AoE attacks on mob groups instead of just pummeling one enemy with 1 1 1 1 while the other DPS has to take care of the rest of the mobs? The DPS is a RDM or SMN and rezzes also when the healer is in a pinch? Commendation.
I judge purely on these criteria and then decide whether a commendation is deserved or not.
Tbh, actually I wish there was a button which let me down vote their already received commendations for showing poor performance.
No guts, no glory! No pain, no gain!
I pretty much only ever com DPSs anyways. Unless they play very badly and get weird in chat. Followed by tanks. They are an easy role of course (who isn't lol?), but still just a bit more involved than healers and setting the pace can be stressful for many, so it feels a bit more responsible.
As an ex healer main I pretty much never commend healers. No offense to the playerbase, but somehow this is the role that attracts the outright worst players the entire gaming industry has to offer. And instead of teaching people to get better, SE just keeps on trying to lower the skill floor lower than the ground. Yet that somehow doesn't help a SINGLE bit. I sometimes go a good 20+ dungeons before I find a healer who knows what Esuna is. I constantly get dungeons where healers do not DPS at all (there's 2 buttons, it could NOT be any easier). Constantly get dungeons where healers use the weirdest abilities imaginable, just not any of the ones they should be. They struggle, tanks die, they do not raise because they don't know where the buttons are, etc. I see healers not raise anyone in trials, letting sprouts miss out on entire fights after dying ONCE.
I hate what the role has become, and I will not be commending people for their ability to press 4 buttons.
I only give commendations to players who show me they have the potential to become good mentors (if they aren't already) when playing early content with sprouts.
That's it.
Retired healer

My general commendation priority. It's not required to do both but if I notice either I'll take note. It's not in a specific order...
1. Melee using fient + LB only on last boss (ideally a range should be lbing but people hardly LB)
2. Phys Range using their mitigations + LB on mob packs
3. Caster using addle + LB on mob packs
4. Tank not pulling raw
5. Not spamming cure 1/benefic 1 + aoeing
Alot of people commend based on your portrait though. I don't think many put much thought in it, some don't commend at all and just leave immediately.
Ironically I got most of my commendations on BLM. I guess people are super impressed by aetherial manipulation and not eating stacks for days plus LBing big packs of mobs.

I just got the 1500 comm achievement playing casually as nothing but Dancer in like a year and a half of sub time. Maybe ny'all should try being cute dancing catboys. ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ
Anyway, I only comm DPS, personally, unless I notice an exceptionally clutch tank or healer. I know they're getting most of the comms otherwise, so it's not like they need mine.
