Jokes on you, when you're a lala, you get comms no matter the role you play.
If you want free comms, you picked the wrong option.

I've literally carried raids as a SMN and gotten no coms and then done a barely acceptable job as a melee and gotten coms. There's no real logic behind it, don't question it. Sometimes people don't comm at all, too.
I try to comm within my role unless someone does a stellar job. If I'm playing healer or tank and my partner did a good job then I'll always give it to them. Usually I'll give it to the DPS who has good buff alignment when I'm playing DPS, but I'll always comm a dancer if they give me DP or AST if they give me cards.
Edit: Sometimes if everyone was good or bad or average I'll comm whoever has the best portrait.

guess poor dps in little disadvantaged here
my comm go to anyone who doesnt get on my nerves
and healers almost never get on my nerves
with <3, lazy tank

This is 100% true! When I fantasia into my adorable super cute Lala princess, I get tons of Cute Comms no matter what role I play. People just loooove cute!
And lets be honest, Hot avatars are a dime a dozen, so are easily forgettable unless they have a good glamour or portrait.
I actually thought it would be the same with cute Lala's too since you see a lot of them, but the Cute Comms I keep getting when I am a Lala prove me wrong. Honestly, it's really ALL about your outfit choice and what emotes you chose to use to stand out from the crowd.

im always surprised when i get a commendation for being a DPS job, it's like, "Wow, you really think I did good in this role?" like its unbelievable to me.

One one hand, I get it. On the other hand, for healers, it's the least you can do for the people willing to play this dogshit role.
I'll give healer a try up until level 100. If I do not like it, I'm off the role, entirely. Was this what Yoshi P wanted for people like me? Did he assume we were too foolish to take any semblance of complexity? How could such an allegedly open developer act so dismissive towards his own players? The flavor of the jobs I loved so much throughout the franchise were mere husks of themselves. What was once a magical world peeled away to reveal a sterile room of four walls. No imagination, no challenge, only accessibility for the sake of it. I didn't feel welcomed, I felt betrayed.

"Outside obvious jokes/sarcasm, I aim to convey my words to the future readers who may come across mine posts. Can I change -your- mind, somehow? Potentially... but that's not why I'm writing. You and I have wrote our piece(s). We don't necessarily need to change each other's mind. But we can change other's."
