    The ignore list

With the release of Dawntrail, I think it's putting it mildly to say that some arguments have broken out in the community. While it's tempting to engage with them and attempt to convince others of your view, there are times where other players are simply not open to discussion. They may even say very hateful things to you or other people.
Unfortunately, the more we engage with these hateful discussions, the more they'll be bumped to the front of the forum and remain active. I think it would greatly help the forum if we would make an effort to disengage from arguments when we know the other person isn't speaking in good faith.

I've started using the ignore feature on bad actors, and it works great to hide the vitriol. You can access this feature by viewing another user's profile on the full site. I recommend doing this anytime you encounter a user who is lying, making personal attacks, discriminating against others, etc.
Taking steps to ensure a healthy experience on a forum is very important. When unreasonable negativity is rampant, the best choice is often to get rid of it.

I know some cheeky people might say "okay Pico, I'll ignore you", but that's okay! The end goal is just to have less interactions with toxic people, so I'll gladly distance myself from you.

In good faith such as when someone from the represented area in DT tells you that the representation it's not good?

Don't just ignore, report too. The reason it sometimes looks like one side of the conversation is allowed to be antagonistic without moderators stepping in is because people are not reporting those posts. Some believe everyone should have the freedom to even be rude and attack people, but the people whose expressions you tolerate are not giving you the same courtesy. They'll rile you up on purpose just to report you at the end. So don't get riled up, return the favor instead. It only takes a few seconds to notify the mods.

This is also true, there have been many comments lately that have been extremely hostile and personal. I report them where I see them, though I don't yet know how often action is taken.

I don't know if they fixed it or not, but you can still see threads made by people you ignore. Just a heads up.

It doesn't block threads or even the existence of comments, unfortunately. Someone in the past posted a browser plugin that will wipe blocked people entirely but I don't recall what it was. I've been out of my block phase for a while and now just try to quickly assess antagonistic people and avoid or limit contact with them.

Really? Huh, what a weird design flaw (choice?). Then again, considering the issues with the in-game blacklist, I guess it makes sense...
