As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
Because a tank requires 7 vuln stacks to take the same amount of damage as another player. However tanks also have almost twice the HP of other players, to take percentage health bar equitable damage a tank has to have 13 vuln stacks (remember it caps at 8 in the modern game). Then on top of that tanks are overflowing with defensives, putting up a single 20% defensive (so rampart, your 2 minutes or your short mitigation) means you need 19 vuln stacks to take HP equitable damage compared to a caster AND tanks can fully heal themselves near twice a minute
You aren’t talented and you don’t have a right to hold the rest of the party hostage, the game simply doesn’t permit you to die because of your ridiculous defence
Throw yourself off the map next time you take more than one hit every minute and we will see how much more “talented” tanks are

I don't really see how this is relevant. If your soloing a boss you're probably not taking vuln stacks to begin with.Because a tank requires 7 vuln stacks to take the same amount of damage as another player. As opposed to the people who died, who likely had 2-3 on them. I get you're trying to make this sound like I'm saying this is a skill thing, but I just said "normal content isnt hard for anyone". Anyone includes tanks.

I'll give you that Tanks are overkitted for normal content, but so are healers. And DPS aren't even tested in normal content.
Vuln stacks not mattering to tank is just how the game is to me, I'll avoid attacks that are actually lethal, and stand in the ones that give some form of benefit such as uptime.
I doubt they're in a rush to make the game actually hard for anyone at this level.
The bizarre thing is that people somehow believe this. Or perhaps they're just trolling? It's genuinely hard to tell.
Regardless, plenty of fights have unavoidable damage. I've done plenty of fights as a Black Mage where I perform all the mechanics correctly and even make optimal use of my single defensive cooldown, but I still die because unavoidable damage eventually does you in when your healer is on the ground.
On May 16th 2024, Creative Studio III made the decision to terminate the existence of non-standard Black Mage. The impact of this decision on the job's population will be negligible.
If you think DRK doesn’t have incredibly strong survivability when you actually use its skills just tells me you think broken overpowered heals is what count as tank defensives
It’s not hard to solo a boss on a DRK especially now they have a massive excog on their 2 minutes and they still have the inbuilt advantage of 80% damage down, 1.8* the HP and a boatload of defensives like all tanks

Guarantee if we saw you doing the fights you're getting 8 vuln stacks but living because tanks lmao
When i get the nier raid and not mting i sometimes grab the orbs for fun and get to 16 vulns, and don't die
