Reverse WoW exodus

Exodus this, refugees that... what happened to just playing games you enjoyed? SE will know that their golden goose is dying when their numbers start to fall, no need to organize events over not playing games because 1% of your expected playtime during any specific expansion is sub-par. MMOs almost feel like toxic game design in how much they hook people into them. Switching games shouldn't be this big of an ordeal.

Granted, I'm probably going to give WoW a shot when the new expansion comes out, but even though I like its combat flow better than XIV's, I've been dissatisfied with its metagame/endgame prog for far, far too long to have any desire to put significant time into it.

You want to run the same 5 dungeons over and over (and over (and over)) again at varying levels of difficulty (tuning only, no new mechanics 4head) between raid tiers? Play WoW.

You want to do literally anything else? Consider GW2 or FFXIV.

I played WoW for 14 years straight and while it does a lot of stuff well (like ACTUALLY WORKING on the client! You see, they actually add code to it! Shocking, I know!), they do a lot of things wrong. Not to mention the scandals around them.
So for the time being, I'm not planning on coming back, even if TWW tempts me a bit.

I am checking out WoW right now after not playing since 2019. My issue with Dawntrail is how quick I burned through the content on launch. This feels like a very light content launch. Also I just interested in the latest story of WoW.

I have not purchased War Within mind you as I am severely wary of how rude and mean the players are in that game. Also it appears my former serve from 2019 is dead and I am not paying Blizzard money to move to a non dead server.

Dawntrail has the exact same gameplay roughly for all classes. And not enjoying the story here is fine, but that's not going to be anywhere close to better over there.

Not sure why anyone thinks the world revolves around which MMORPG they play. I'm a wow player! Now I hate wow with a passion and love ff14! FF14 did me wrong, now I love wow again! Play what you want, play them all, play nothing. Who cares, really?

ftr I play wow, ff14, gw2 and eso occasionally as well, they're just games, you don't need to make a game (made by a company that doesn't actually care if you personally play or not) your whole identity. Like TWW actually looks pretty interesting, I played the beta, it was really buggy though and it doesn't appear they've fixed those bugs either. I'll be playing it nonetheless, doesn't mean I have to suddenly HATE ff14 in order to switch to wow for a bit. They're not political parties or religions, you don't have to vote or devote your life only to one of them.

Last time I played WoW seriously (raiding) was in Cataclysm, I tried BfA but that was such a flop, but even then, I'm curious to see how War Within does because I'm exhausted of FFXIV ShB 3.0 combat.
