    Because people were using it as a oGCD to try to server tick gauge rather then it's intended purpose.

    Yeah and in the usual SE fashion, instead of turning it into a total DPS loss by dramatically increasing the GCD recast (a bit like Honing Dance if you will), they just removed it. Genius.
