There's more going on than what Yoshi is telling the players, now if Yoshi would come out and say exactly how this will be accomplished Im pretty sure there would be a mass exodus before 2.0. Seriously as it sounds now FFXIV will just be another standard lobby game.
Well.. they are pulling 300+ men on 1 game, you think these quests will be really engaging, and besides its too late now to do anything about this close at launch.. and they thrown enough money trying to revive it from the ashes.. If the Quests are really engaging I wouldn't mind at all. Sure as hell beats killing Beast men for 4-6 hours straight. I will be honest that does tend to get boring at times, but I learn to deal with it because I know the content that lies ahead will be worth it.

Questing to me gives me a sense of something to accomplish, a Goal to Reach.. even if its XYZ on some of the quests.. If some person wants me to killing Beastmen because they are terrorizing the village.. I'll clean them up for them.. Then I'll feel Accomplished knowing I did a good deed for the Village.. and they can live safe and in Harmony.

As Long as the quest itself make me feel like a winner in the end then the Quest did its job and it outbeats Grinding for mobs. That's how I look at it.

    Edit:
SO what Yoshi is doing to get optimal exp is forcing you to do quests, and limiting what players can recieve from grinding for exp. Wow what a one sided design this is.
    - Well, for one questing only goes so far then it has a stopping point ( till a new patch comes to brings more).

    - Some Questing will probably be like this Kill X then back to Y ( but those very mobs that your killing in a quest.. would be the same if your killing them by just Grinding them). I see no difference in the matter

-If a lot of people ( by a lot I mean 100k at least players) you can bet at least 1/2 those people are going to want to grind on mobs the old fashion way.

    - Who says you can't Balance Grinding and Questing? It's Def Possible.

Edit: The only reason why they couldn't do it in the first Version is because of the Limitations.

Yes it is possible but will they do it? If we look back a what they say and actually do we players pretty much know this wont happen. A good example is the WAR nerf, but what did they do vs what they could have done. When they actually do finally fix something it normally ends up in a nerf instead of bring up (in this case) other jobs to match and or mobs to match. SE and the Dev's cant strike a balance on anything. Another example is the drop rates and lock outs, there are plenty of examples but yet this company cant be counted on to fix things properly so that its balanced. The Dev's tend to go from 1 extreme to another, but they keep missing the mark.
