    Raids MSQ skips?

    Hi!

So I'm a fairly new player and currently doing the MSQ's in ARR. I've reached the point where I need to complete some raids, Labyrinth, Syrcus etc.

I was just wondering if there was a faster way to complete these quests, like with NPC's or skip them altogether? I'm currently in queue for World of Darkness and just thought I would see if I missed anything.

It's a little annoying cause I've been sitting in queue for almost 5 hours now combined with all these raids

It used to not be required to do any 24-person raids; however, these specific 3 raids are relevant in the Main Story later. Plus, it helps you learn what these raids are like and that they aren't difficult or something to fear, due to the amount of people that can resurrect you.

Content can take longer to get into during this time period because, outside of the Oceanic and Japanese regions, it's not peak hours. 5 hours before your post it was the night/still waking up time in the European region.

Of all the 24-person raids, the queue for those 3 succeeds most frequently. Some things that can help are:

    - Open Duty Finder (press U or type /dutyfinder), click the cog wheel on the gold bar at the top, select all 4 languages: J E D F, then click Confirm. This matches you with people who speak all 4 languages, potentially speeding up the queue.

    - Sometimes choosing a different role can help, if you have it leveled and geared. For 24-person raids, the most needed role is DPS. However, in rare cases, it might need a tank or a healer. Trying to queue with each role fishing for an instant queue is a strategy people try!

    - You can recruit some people to help in Party Finder (/partyfinder), queue into it using the Unrestricted setting (you can enable that via the gold bar duty finder settings again). You require at least 3 other players for this, and in theory, they would have enough damage to do the entire thing because most players are level 100 now. However, sometimes there are mechanics that require more than 3 people, depending on the raid. I don't remember that one needing more than 3 high-level 100 players, but I could be wrong.

    - You can also try something called Data Center Travel and go to the Light data center, since you are currently on Chaos. To do this, you logout and then go to the Character Selection Screen and follow these steps:

Of course, you will probably want to follow similar steps to return to Chaos after you finish the raid, except you click "Return to Homeworld".

Once you've done them; eventually you'll find you will get Crystal Tower so often in the Alliance Roulette you'll kinda wish you never had to do them to begin with...

You need to do them at a rather busy time like now instead of trying to do them off peak time

As a new player who delt with the same problem only some weeks ago: I was finally able to do them (after several weeks trying during working days), by logging on on a Saturday evening, 20:00 my local time (6pm GMT). I then waited "only" about 15 minutes. So, the trick seems to be able to log on at peak hours.

Now, I don't know if you will experience same than me, but when I finally entered the raids, after all those long weeks of waiting, I was carried out at light speed and it was finished before I could see/get anything out of the place/content.
The group was rushing forward, ignoring mechs and it was over within minutes. Good side of it: I was finally done and able to continue the msq. Bad side of it: Was I really there? Not sure ...

You probably have finished the raid you needed to do already but for anyone who clicks on this thread in the future:

If you are a new player and have access to the novice network, it's not a bad idea to 'pester' the people there and ask if anyone would like to queue with you. There are usually a lot of helpful people who would be more than happy to run you through it so don't be afraid to ask.
