Are there red Galkas in FF XI?Thanks for clearing that up. Roman numerals are hard.
Yeah you're right... They are nothing alike. Forum user, you've shown me the light! How could have I ever been so facetious as to make lite of such a serious issue, to think all of the people I've hurt. You obviously take naming very seriously, I'm sorry to have crushed you like this by comparing two things that are OBVIOUSLY so different.

in 2.0 skirmish will be known as Valkrum Dunes HD

Why change names anyway? The names we have now are the names of the races we have here. I didn't play XI so i suppose my opinion here has no value to some.
I made a FF14 account to play FF14.
I play FF14 cause i like FF14 enough to keep playing.
If i wanted or want to play FF11 i would be playing FF11.
I understand liking a game you've played before..alot. This isn't that game.
If i was on FF11 forums asking to have things in FF11 changed to things in FF14. I somehow doubt you'd appritiate that.
I like hearing ideas about stuff like mechanics and cool things that can be worked into FF14. Not changing FF14 into the new FF11. This thread is the latter, not the prior.

The issue at hand is that Yoshi will destroy FFXIV at the rate he is going. It seems that Tanaka had the right idea compared to the direction Yoshi is taking it, (speculation at best) and by giving the players and or 1 group of players every damn thing they want. I have said it before and Ill say it again they could have use the same systems in FFXI and improved upon them greatly, but they didnt. What Yoshi has done has taken things from other games (imo should be used but to a lesser extent). At the rate Yoshi is going with all the easy mode crap this game has a high possiblity that 1-2 groups of player out of 3 will completely abandon it come 2.0 (casual, mid-hardcore and hardcore). Unfortunatly casuals come and go like water and once and if both mid and hardcore leaves, this game wont beable to sustain itself. There needs to be all 3 types of players and a balance to everything and not lean too far one way as this game is now currently doing. Here's to the hopes that 2.0 will accomplish something the dev's cant seem to accomplish in 1.0.

Then stop playing. If you really think Yoshida is destroying this game and you really hate the direction it's going in, I would highly suggest you find another game to play. I'm not trying to be an ass here but the point of playing games should be to have fun and enjoy yourself. If this game isn't doing that for you and is only going further from that then perhaps it's not the game for you.The issue at hand is that Yoshi will destroy FFXIV at the rate he is going. On topic though: The race names are fine as is. They have their own identities despite looking similar to the XI ones (like Roegadyn having females). This isn't XI, get over it.
It's possible to find great fault in things and still consider them the most desirable option available. That's how I feel about XIV. Maybe he does too. I will complain to great extent about things I think are stupid, but I still love MMO's and this is the best option out for my taste right now. I would rather be shot in the stomach and left to slowly bleed to death than play WoW, but that doesn't mean I think XIV is perfect.
I agree with you they should have just followed the path already carved out by XI instead of trying to reinvent the wheel. How much different do you think Blizzards next MMO will be from WoW. My guess is not very. FFXI-2 would have made a better game but I guess this is as close as its gonna get.The issue at hand is that Yoshi will destroy FFXIV at the rate he is going. Don't be silly, people. They're called the same in both games.
It's Hume, Midget, Cat, Elf, and 'Holy Twelve, lay off the cookies already!'
that is all.
