    Summoner Rework 2.0

Summoner job design Idea will be the same,
Mage who summon Eikons to empower their skills,

each summon should have their own characteristics and gameplay differences shapeshifting, basically it is Druid but for FFXIV

Summoner will have the casting time of Black mage and the melee combo of red mage with no raise we don't need another tax for our beloved summoner job.

Ifrit, yes this is the best, I played FF16 and I must say, this Eikon grows on me so fast I love it,

Ifrit is the melee form of Summoner, Summoner stop using his dumb book and use his fangs to do devastating attacks that is fast and deadly, something similar to Reaper shroud, Casts are 1.5 to 2 seconds with 2 OGCDs.

Phenix is the range version of Ifrit and more damage but has longer cast 2.5 with there characteristics:
    - when switch to this form Summoner will get buff that will auto raise summoner when died.
    - each phenix attack will consume Summoner health reaching to 0 will auto raise.

Bahamut is range and not only the most powerful but the slowest too, 3.0 second recast with 1000 potency attacks, damage buffs to party too.

Titan again it is melee like Ifrit but slower and higher potency

Garuda weaker than Bahamut but the ability to Walk casting like PVP Machinist and Bard.

    remove solar Bahamut

    In conclusion:
2 Melee forms: 1 High speed, 1 Low speed
3 Range forms: 1 Normal casting, 1 Walking casting, 1 Slow Casting

that's it, I know it is not complete I am just giving the ideas.

I believe summoner super power has been held by too much utility and raise..
Just remove them let us have a real job with respected damage

i think this could be simplified down to
    Summoner = Shapeshifter
and draws from the Ysayle/Tsukoyomi-inspired version of Summoning
Within the Lore these two methods of summoning don't seem to have the same drawbacks as conjuring new beings from nowhere, the individual who takes on these "Aspects" of the true mythological ideals people share about an agreed upon being retain their minds, and don't have or don't use tempering, and finally they can return to normal once they expend the necessary aetherical energies/crystals needed in the first place to obtain the form. This means there should be a safe way perhaps using the job crystal and their unnatural amount of aether for the WoL to after building meter transform into one of the predetermined summoned entities, in this case

Titanized version of the player character (Skin turns brown along with hair taking another shade of brown and armor and or glamor being replaced with a titanized bodysuit specific to each gender.)
Ifritized version of the player character (Skin turns red along with hair taking another shade of red or orange and armor and or glamor being replaced with a Ifritized bodysuit specific to each gender.)
Garudaized version of the player character (Skin turns white along with hair taking another shade of dark green and armor and or glamor being replaced with a garudaized bodysuit specific to each gender.)

Similar to their original 2.0 versions
The Titan Form grants you a shield equal to your full hp making you sturdier than the next two forms, it has a melee attack button that is a 3 in 1 button combo like Pictomancers spell Fire in Red, it also has a ranged attack button assuming you want to play it ranged this button replaces Ruin 3
The Ifrit Form grants your higher spell speed making your melee combo button much quicker than the other two forms resulting in higher dps, their ranged option works similarly to titans,
The Garuda form grants increased movement speed and two times the duration as the other two, therefore it has its own unique value as a mobility option to avoid mechanics as it has 2x the movement speed as your base form, 4x when sprinting, it has a 3 in 1 combo button and a ranged option just like the other two.

Phoenix Rising is a skill that can do two things one being an auto-proc if you die it'll auto-raise you back to life, or if you manually activate it, it will fully charge your summoning meter (needed to transform into the above forms), the cooldown being around 8 minutes, or similar to hollow-ground,
Bahamut form, while in one of the above forms you can hit the Bahamut button and become Bahamut for 12 seconds, capable of using either of his signature attacks already in the summoner job, the duration for this is 12 seconds or whatever time is left on your summoning meter whichever is the least.

Speaking of the summoning meter, your meter can be used at any time so long as you have some meter built up, the size of the bar is measured in seconds with the maximum non-garuda form being 30 seconds, garuda form lasting 60 seconds,

SE only makes jobs more simple. Any additional changes to summoner would bring it closer to a scholar DPS rotation, you can look at the VPR changes for proof

Honestly I’d rather they just create a separate Druid shapeshifting job. That was what some people were hoping for with Green Mage. We got Picto instead, which I love, but that doesn’t mean they won’t add more jobs in the future. A Druid type job would be really cool for XIV, but I don’t think it fits SMN.

Right now, Summoner is more true to the job fantasy of the older games. What it really needs is more gem summons to round out the elements and liven up the rotation in between demis.

I would like to see summoner broke something called "rotation"

Each fight summoner should summon eikon 1 time only

Summoning ifrit 5 times in 1 fight is boring and dumb

Streamline the summoning for the whole fight

Doesn’t it kind of contradict the definition of ‘Summoner’ if they’re literally changing into the desired entity? I’d rather Summoners just summoned personally; a Shapeshifting job should be its own thing ( Psst…it’s Beastmaster )

Beast master clearly is a pet job as yoshi said

    It is not shape-shifting

Current summoner isn't even a pet job
You have 0 control on ur pet he is not even attacking

It is like rigged shape-shifting job

i have my own take for summoner, i post i think like year ago?

    - the flow still the same, you summon the "big" one (bahamut, phoenix, etc) you get 3 summon crystal
    - the difference now is these 3 crystal is not ifrit, garuda and titan crystal, it just simply 3 summoning crystal
    - you have array of summon you can pick the higher your level is
    - each primal has it own spell when you summon them just like now, but you have many primal to choose from, each primal has different spell and ability
    - like maybe ramuh has dot spell, leviathan is strong in AOE, ifrit deal better on single target, garuda spell is instant and kinda weak, but you can move while doing so, titan is in between, shiva give you def buff while you cast spell, etc
    - so simply put you use 3 crystal to summon 3 times, but what you summon is up to you and the situation
    - so in mob situation you can just summon leviathan - ramuh - leviathan, in boss fight where single target is important then its ifrit - titan - ifrit, or if the boss doing aoe a lot so you need constant moving, garuda - shiva - garuda, and so on

its much more flexible and really capture the feel of being a summoner where you use your arsenal of primal according to situation

I think the quickest fix to make SMN more engaging is adding back at least a weakness dot akin to RPR. SMN needs a lot more abilities and casting but this will take time.
I think if they readded some sort of weakness dot that makes you do extra damage on Necro and your summon spells, it will at least give you some future optimisation opportunities.

    We don't need quick fixes

Quick fixes can be done in small patches not an expansion

The job now feels limited with rigged identity

It is not a caster nor physical
