From a a developer perspective, this is a lot more complicated than I think people are considering. Looking at this purely from an objective standpoint, the amount of resources that would go into something like this is probably not worth the investment. Considering they specifically have options for temporarily allowing you to see the person and chat in instanced content means they've thought about this and have arrived at a solution they are currently satisfied with.

Having said that, I think there is more they can do, and I believe they've mentioned there is more to do in the future with friends list and what not, so I don't think they are done with this.

well since i have a dev perspective i can tell you the following. every serious Company have a test eviroment where they can play with things and test it. so if you test there new code or even change of code it is not that big of a deal once it work there it will mostly work on live. so instead of using this excuse they could actually try to change it. i dont even want much just some qol which are standards since 2012.

That is not what I said at all. I did not say it couldn't be done. I said the amount of resources to make this happen would not be worth the investment. You speak of every serious company, yet I'm pretty sure the biggest MMO has a test environment and still completely housed their pre-patch event that has taken several days to fix.

sorry if i got something wrong, english is not my native. I dont rly see the point of the " biggest MMO " Please elaborate it. If you mean the WoW pre patch which launched this week, i had not a single issue with it. Like unkillable raids or various issues but this is not the topic here. All i was talking about is just a standard which i kinda dont see in 14 anymore. besides blacklist was always weird in this game.
