    Mastercrafts Consumables Pls Nerf

Hi so I like raiding, I like extremes, and I like criterion dungeons. This content requires good food and potions that are usually master crafts. These master crafts require me to spend several million gil and be subjected to RNGesus for crafter pentamelds for the pleasure of spending hours each week just to craft them. While I can appreciate that crafting is a system that some people enjoy, I shouldn't be forced to engage with it just to participate in the content I do enjoy. And before anyone wants to say "You can just buy it!" the amount of these consumables that are required end up making it so costly that I'd be spending just as much time doing something else almost equally as miserable like RNG treasure dungeons.

I don't care if the gear is difficult to craft, most people only really need one set of it. They can keep that. But please for the love of Hydaelyn let me craft my own food and potions without excessive sacrifice every single week. If there's a significant enough amount of the playerbase that actually enjoys crafting so much then just give them another Firmament or something catered to that content but stop forcing me to engage with it to an excessive degree.

Edit adding onto this for those who don't get it: I know what end-game crafting is like. I have been playing this game since end of Heavensward. I have pentamelded crafting sets several times. I have been "the crafter" for my static through numerous tiers. I know what it's like and the effort required. And I still absolutely hate it. I don't want to do it anymore. I'm sick of it and will just be spending my gil at this point. But when that runs out I have to decide: Is it worth it to go back and enduring this content that I find soul-sucking, or just give it up and don't come back at all?

Eh, no. You've had good 2 weeks or more to prepare all the necessary materials to craft it yourself. Some people I know barely had time to play the game themselves and managed to get it done.

Crafting was never difficult, tedious? yes, difficult not in the slightest. All you need is to meet the minimum stat and quality requirements then let the in-game macro do the crafting for you.

You've had years to prepare for the launch of DT and the new crafter melds/gear. Why should endgame crafters suffer just because you're too lazy? As for being forced to craft you're not there's plenty of avenues to make gil ventures, grand company loot boxes, minion/mount drops, maps, play the market and FATES to name a few.

If you dont want to craft then dont but that is the games core system to make high amounts of gil.

Also Edit: How the hell is me not being bored of out my mind making crafters suffer?? Are they going to wilt away and die because suddenly they can't do the content they enjoy anymore (crafting)? The crafting is always there. If they want the harder crafts then craft the gears. I'm only interested in food and potions having lowered requirements because those are needed in such high quantities it's ridiculous.
So what about people who only want to specialise in Alchemy and Culinarian? What do you propose they now craft to make gil?

You've missed the point. The point is it's content I do not enjoy at all. It's boring and repetitive and is simply a means to an end (that I have to have them to raid) and not because it's actually fun. I can do it. But it sucks. You know, that reason we play games. To have fun.

Just as a crafter or a casual player shouldn't have to engage with savage or extremes, I shouldn't have to engage with extreme pentamelding crafting on a weekly basis.

"Just spend tens of hours farming in what you consider to be extremely boring content!"
Yeah, there's a reason I'm playing FFXIV for raids and not Runescape.

I mean in RuneScape you can also just pay someone else to do it, it's like a staple of the game and economy

it/its - 14 accessibility is bad, ease of access is not accessibility, jobs are boring. Transphobia ruins real attempts at criticism and it's whack.

Cool, I'll just start selling my raid loot then? Because that's a marketable commodity that I obtain from the content I actually enjoy doing. /s

I genuinely don’t understand your point

If you don’t want to farm then you buy, if you don’t want to buy then you farm that is literally one of the most core tenants of the design of an MMO ever since the older generation introduced centralised trading systems like the grand exchange

This is right up there with “I love MMO’s but I hate playing online and I hate playing with other people”

As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
