Unless that job was its most similar counterpart, MonkThis situation isn’t quite the same. The Viper change was announced very early, like within a week of launch. Anyone who continued to play knew these changes were coming early in Viper's lifespan. While the community might act as if Viper's identity was established at launch, it’s clear that SE had a different view. The changes to Viper aren’t comparable to the complete overhauls seen with AST or SMN, where entire jobs were revamped. Like I said before, it was better for SE to do this early than let the job sit for months before making such changes.
Most jobs play how they did in EW. They could go back to their previous main before Viper if Viper bothers them. If Viper was your breaking point, then it sounds to me like there's more festering in your mind than just Viper that isn't being brought up. But since Viper was the only thing mentioned, that's the focus of the topic.
But, Monk aside, people also didn't like Endwalker design. Or Shadowbringers design. Did you just fall out of a coconut tree or something?
