so at the very early start i remember that they said that there will be in game
voice acting
and with a few cut-scene you realy see that there was meant to be voice acting
so has there been news on it that 2.0 will be voice acted ?

Facts:
1. Main storyline only.
2. Not minor NPC dialog or minor quests.
Still up in the air:
3. Job quests as those are major quests and not the kill 10 dodo quests we're going to have for leveling.
If the recently released trailers are any indication of what voice acting will be like in the game, I'll be playing with the sound OFF.
We also know that the voice acting will be produced in four languages now as opposed to only english.
They have a LOT of voice dialogue already in the game that isn't being used. I heard people that go through all the dats or something like that, there are like hundreds of files that have long voice acting dialogues, that have been in the game for a long time, just never used for whatever reason.
It was mentioned within the last couple weeks that VA will be done in English, German, French and Japanese and will probably be restricted the major story quests/missions only. Yoshi felt it'd be annoying to hear a regular mundane NPC talk everytime you interact with them.
Welch from Star Ocean, anyone? :P
Its a shame 2.0 wont have npc dialogue VA like Guild Wars 2..... Anyone plan on playing both GW2 and FFXIV?

I'm happy without voice acting for most things, fine with it in the main story, and I'd be fine if there was no voice acting at all. Voice acting just hogs up hard drive space and adds unnecessary costs to development.
LOL @ star ocean comment. star ocean 2 had the funniest/worst voice acting haha
if the VA is anything like it is in the trailers...then no, just no.
I hope they don't overdo it, it can really cost quite a bit and that money should stay with the dev team rather than voice actors
