What do you think about Linkshell Tabards?

Did you guys say you wanted your free company logos emblazoned on your gear?

Although it may not be tabards, we are planning to allow the placement of free company logos onto certain equipment when free companies are introduced! There will be limitations on what equipment and other objects that can have the logos placed onto them of course, but that's to be expected.

As for those that were suggesting a bonus for displaying your free company's logo on your gear, we currently have no plans on adding this.

Although I primarily play my blm, I always did like the idea of seeing the knights in xi wear mantles, of course some .dat modding made this possible. But as for the emblem, like the back of the vanya robe for my thm, its pretty bare back there. Having the FC insignia shown off wouldn't be a bad touch.

I know in Aion, you were able to upload an original image for use as your guild icon. Will this be something that's possible in ARR?

Probably not uploadable. if it is, it will need to be screened because of copyright etc. knowing SE it would take weeks between upload and approval. not to mention the need to match template/format. so no thanks on that.

it will be more feasible to ask for a pallet where we can create an emblem that can be added in. I think Armored core offered this.

or maybe a system similar to City of Heroes where you can put letters/images on top of each other to create an emblem.

I could see them adding in special emblems your company can unlock via PvP achievements too.

Idk how it worked for Aion but it did and still does. Only takes them like 5 min to screen an image and that games even F2P now.

and i'd rather SE hire someone who can actually do tech support than someone who just looks at images all day for customization of tabards.

screening also takes more than 5 minutes. what are you basing your assumption on? are you in a legal department? do you screen copy rights for a living? less risk to make it non-uploadable. not going to happen.
