Based on this change, players are required to form a party with fellow participants and play an active role in protecting the chocobos. Warning messages will appear at three points throughout the mission for players whose contributions are deemed insufficient.

So, I havn't had time to test yet, but what exactly does this mean? If you have a full party of blm's and the other 7 get nukes off before yours ever lands, and you effectively do nothing to any mobs or players at all whatsoever, will it boot you because your actions are 'insufficient'? I'm saying it's possible. That person is probably just too slow or distracted and should get booted anyhow, but I mean really. What is the minimum you can do w/o getting booted? What if you only have monk, and only get to hit like 2 mobs with punches for a few seconds, is that enough? These mobs die incredibly quickly with blm burns, so I'm just really hoping they didn't botch this and boot people cuz they don't get 50% of the kills or some shit.

It doesnt boot you, you just get no rewards

so does it now give seals based on what it deems your participation was, or is it "if you did anything, you get max seals"

As long as you do something you'll be fine. If you're worried about other people's nukes hitting before yours just use Blizzara as waves appear.

You get max seals whatever happens, there's no disasterous walk of echoes style ranking.

I'm pretty sure this is more of a counter-measure against people that wait at the end and don't help at all. If it was what you say, whm wouldn't get points either.

We can use Aerora and Stonera which BLMs can't do so this is true (Cleric stance helps)

It just means that you have to be in the party AND not too far away from the chocobo (like rushing to the end from start). Never seen the message and I rarely hit anything + just buff other players.

Don't know when the requirement that you're near the party takes effect. I missed the first half of some caravans at Treespeak (My party was understanding.) the other day as BLM, but nuked the rest of the time and got full seals each time.
