We're giving your account a warning because reasons.

I really don't know where to turn regarding this.

I received a warning against my account for "Offensive Language" but Squeenix did not denote when and where, did not give me access to chat logs and did not even say what I said that was so offensive. So Squeenix is allowed to take action against my account with no evidence of wrong doing at all?

I only bring this here because talking with support is getting me nowhere. I'm being sent ridiculous form letter responses which do nothing to address my concerns and talk down to me like I'm a child and not a paying customer who's account is being threatened without cause. I can't understand what the purpose of this circular action where Squeenix says I violated their terms of service, refuses to say how and then when I ask for appeal, get a response that looks almost 99% similar to the useless response they just sent me.

I'm not sure if I should post the emails here or what, but I would think that the very minimum that they would want to tell me what the issue is so that I can correct the behavior. I'm getting the feeling here that they just don't care and someone is swinging their banhammer for fun. Problem is, I don't like having my account threatened.

if you are a citizen of the EU you can force SQEX to disclose the exact offensive language chat log that got you banned
you can request a DSAR at the email dsar@eu.square-enix.com

the template you can use is as follows

    To whom it may concern,

My name is [NAME] (Square Enix ID [ID]) and I am writing to make a subject access request under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for all personal data concerning reports made against me within the Final Fantasy XIV game.

If you need any more information, please let me know as soon as possible.

Please send your response to the email address registered to my account, [email@email.email]

It may be helpful for you to know that data protection law requires you to respond to a request for personal data within one calendar month. If you do not normally deal with these requests, please pass this letter to your data protection officer or relevant staff member.

    Yours faithfully,

If you use bad language in general in public, then they just need to point it out that you need to act more civil, there is no more to it than that, and if it is a general thing that you need to say the f word or s word or whatver foul language as a general thing, then the problem remain with you, read the Terms of Service is a good start, and try and better yourself.

How exactly am I supposed to "better myself" if I don't even know what I did that violated the terms in the first place. If they wanna show me evidence that I did something that requires such an action, then we can move onto that. The problem is that they are not showing me any evidence of wrong doing.

And to SeiyaSoiya, I'm an American so that EU thing would not apply to me unfortunately.

It says nowhere that he used "bad language in public". It could be someone that got offended by a joke that was made while in a party or a different situation, since every situation is handled case by case it could be that bad language wasn't used, but he still got reported by someone, the GM checked and thought it was "offensive" even if that wasn't the purpose of the message.
It's just weird to me that they don't tell you stuff like this because there is nothing to lose here. Just attach the chat log to the e-mail and tell me which messages I am being banned/suspended for so I can think about it and keep it in mind the next time I'm having a conversation with someone in game.

I'm not excusing this behaviour or saying that anything happened, I'm just saying that we don't know what actually happened and there are a lot of possibilities. Also, if someone asks you why they're banned it costs SE nothing to send you the log files since 1) They already have them because GMs read them and 2) They already send you an e-mail with the details of the suspension.

Edit: Sorry I don't post often and I'm not sure how to reply properly, I wanted to reply to Themarvin
    Edit #2: I think I did it

Usually the GMs will be vague towards the reasoning to prevent reprisal or even to make it difficult to identify who would have reported you.

I'm pretty sure they don't have to tell you what you said as it could lead to further harrassment against said person who reported you, if we're looking at this for.. well, a reach perspective.

Imagine you join a new FC and everything is fine, but then you make a joke that someone got offended by, but most laughed at it and no one really said "whoa, you can't say that". Now, the person you offended might be opening a ticket up and reporting you. Alright, so a few days go by, you've played the game, you've talked dozens, maybe hundresd of times in the FC since then, and you get this warning that you used language that wasn't supported. If they told you that "You made a fat joke on 8:38PM ET on Feb 4th" you could narrow it down (depending on the FC size) to "Okay, so which one of you reported me? One of you reported me in here because I made a joke and that's honestly not cool..." which, as I'm sure you guessed, can lead to even more drama, name calling, name and shame, etcetcetc.

They are protecting the reporting party in this case and nothing more. While you might feel like you're owed something, the fact is, you're really not, and I say this as someone who is down right vulgar more than not.

The problem is that because people aren't told where the line was when they crossed it, they don't know how to un-cross it. To use me as an example, I've never swore in-game, so if I got this message from SE, I'd have no idea what I'd be getting it for. I could be being reported for a slightly edgy joke, or because I rubbed someone the wrong way when giving advice, and I would have no way of knowing what exactly I'd need to correct in the future. It's entirely possible to just have no idea how to 'better yourself'.

I've always found this excuse to be stupid. If I figure out who reported me and I harass them again, I'd get reported again and I'd get banned. And I say this as someone who has reported people for genuine harassment numerous times, if someone I reported tried to harass me again, I'd blacklist them (if they weren't already) and report them again.
