I started DT and the music is so strange!

Jazz in the city??

DT Theme is some kind of bizarre Japanese rock band with whiney boys singing???

Where is the Latin Music??? Are you kidding me? They have some of the best beats in the
WORLD and I am stuck with whiney Japanese karaoke and Jazz versions (that honestly reminds me of the Mario Jump song) ???

Come on, FF has amazing music.... this is not great.

I'll be honest, the soundtrack early on wasn't helping me get into the expansion (along with how slow the story began on top of it.) I love the scenery but I don't feel the music matches where we are very much.

I like some of the later soundtracks though. Solution 9 and the Final Zone are quite nice, and I like the 3rd zone's theme quite a bit.

Personally, I think this is one of my favorite expansions as far as music goes. I love the whiny boy rock, I love the jazz, I love the experimental tracks in the open zones, I love the remixes, and I love the duty music. Even if some of the tracks aren't your speed (and some, like Smile, aren't mine), I'd be surprised if you don't find plenty more to like.

Does the Jazz feel out of place? Absolutely. But at least it's a bop.

I'm not a fan of the city music in either hub. Was disappointed that Solution 9 didn't even use an FF9 track, and the mellow beats feel kind of off for a cyberpunk city. I guess I expected something more upbeat and techno? In the main city though, the jazz just feels uncanny and I can't get into it. It doesn't match at all.

I'll agree that for me, DT has had some of the largest # of tracks that I've really liked. This is the first time since SB that the majority of the zones have had ambiance music that I can just let my character sit around and listen to (usually there's only one, maybe two zones that really "hit home" for me). And the town themes have also been among my favorites.

To the OP, the take I have on Tuliyollal is that the "Big Band" jazz theme for the day music is designed to portray not the town's culture itself, but the theme of the expansion in us going on "vacation" to a new part of the world (since Tuliyollal is the first place you visit). The night theme for Tuliyollal is a bossa nova style, which is Brazilian in origin.

Favorites by a mile, daytime in Shaaloani and Heritage Found, those are just stellar. Another favorite is the daytime in YakT'el. Rest of the music is on point and I enjoy those. I hate the big band/jazzy in Tuliyollal.

I dont remember any Dawntrail music except for the latest raids. The quality just dropped off a cliff in Dawntrail.
