Constant packet loss since 7.05?

I'd really like to try the new savage raids but ever since patch 7.05 I've been getting constant packet loss. At first, I was only getting packet loss in Arcadion normal, while other trials and dungeons were perfectly normal. Then over the course of this day, packet loss became worse and worse until it's completely unplayable for me.

What is it about FFXIV patches that always ruins the game's server connection for a while? What happened to the smooth experience I had during Dawntrail early access and launch? Did Square Enix take down the extra servers they set up for a smooth expansion launch? And has anybody else been experiencing extreme lag since 7.05?

Yep, you're not alone, friend. I can't even do expert dungeon now. My issue arose after Arcadion's launch, it's just occasional rto, but 7.05 really hammered it home that I couldn't even do anything.

Did a traceroute, all is fine up to Akamai's clusters all the way until the server ip. My best educated guess is YoshiP's attempt to alleviate server congestion by borrowing servers on demand did a bit poorly on any server's changes. EW's queue is long but at least connection is rock solid once we're in. I really hope the dev team prioritizes this.

What I'm not sure of is why majority of people don't experience this, most streamers are fine. I tried using VPN but they keep failing on the same part again.

I just checked the ping of all the servers, the only unstable one is Elemental. Are you by any chance located on that server? If so I'd transfer DC for now until they fix it. I'm from Kujata - Elemental

*Edit: Tried doing that myself, Mana, the only stable DC apparently, is not available for travel due to congestion. The other next best thing is Oceania, with nearly 4 times the latency, hahaha

Yep I'm -still- experiencing this issue, akamai clusters as well. However, I was able to use a VPN that changed my location to singapore, and I was able to play the game normally (better than normal actually), enough to clear M1S. But it still sucks that I have to get a VPN JUST for FFXIV, this is the ONLY game that has this problem. Perhaps this newfound instability is related to the current data center travel fiasco that's happening right now.
