This is true and why I said originally that I was fine with GNB and Dancer having less when they came out. Even with that fact, both last expansion and now it feels slim compared to before.

I was of the impression that there is a fairly predictable selection of weapon sets that get the new weapons added to them? Like, always the two poetics-purchased sets and top raid tier at the previous endgame level, top poetics weapon at the starter level, deep dungeon gear, things like that.

For comparison I looked up what the new jobs have vs what the older ones had from before their respective expansion ranges (cut for length):

PICTOMANCER FOR ENDWALKER AND BELOW IN 7.0

    Starter level tome set: Cryptlurker
Endgame tome set (1): Credendum (Renaissance Brush)

    PVP: Hellhound, Tropaios

Deep dungeon: Padjali, Kinna, Empyrean, Orthos, Enaretos

SAGE FOR SHADOWBRINGERS AND BELOW IN 6.0

    Starter level tome set: Scaevan
    Endgame tome set (1): Cryptlurker
    Endgame tome set (2): Crystarium

    Starter level raid set: Omega
    Endgame raid set: Edenmorn

    Dungeons (x6): Lv70 Crimson Lotus, Lv71 Lakeland, Lv73 Fae, Lv75 Ravel Keeper, Lv77 Nabaath, Lv79 Forgiven

    Craftables (x5): Lv70 Stonegold, Lv72 Stonegold again, Lv74 Bluespirit, Lv76 Titanbronze, Lv78 Dwarven Mythril

PVP: Hellhound (IIRC Tropaios launched in 6.1)

Deep Dungeons: Padjali, Kinna, Empyrean (Orthos not available until mid-patch-cycle)

Craftables (x5): Lv60 High Steel, Lv62 High Steel again, Lv64 Doman Iron, Lv66 Doman Steel, Lv68 Molybdenum

    Deep Dungeons: Padjali, Kinna, Empyrean

RED MAGE FOR HEAVENSWARD AND BELOW (some things may not have been there at launch)

    Starter level tome set: Ironworks
    Endgame tome set (1): Shire
    Endgame tome set (2): Primal/Hailstorm
Endgame pre-tome set: Asuran (though this model is shared with other sets)

    Starter level raid: Dreadwyrm

Endgame trial (x7): Expanse, Hive, Round, Horde, Demon, Goddess, Fiend

Special: GC Captain's sets (recycled models where earlier jobs had unique ones)

    Dungeons (x6): Lv51 Martial, Lv53 Woad (Guespiere), Lv55 Orthodox (Verdun) Lv57 Halonic, Lv59 Gubal (Belah'dian Degen), Lv60 Baldur

Craftables (x5): Lv50 Mythrite, Lv52 Mythrite again, Lv54 Hardsilver, Lv56 Hardsilver again, Lv58 Aurum Regis (alternating between only two models)

PVP (x3): Hellhound, Thaliak, Black Griffin

    Other: Senor Sabotender

    ASTROLOGIAN FOR A REALM REBORN

    Endgame tome set (1): Ironworks
Endgame tome set (2): Gerolt's masterworks (Sirius)
Endgame other: Rowena's token exchange (Aldebaran)

Endgame raid: Allagan, High Allagan, Dreamwyrm

    Endgame trial (x7): all primals

Special: GC Elite, various recyclings of standard star globe models

    Dungeons: Lv30-50, Lv50 Darklight

Crafted: The Evening Star, Giantsgall, Platinum

PVP: Warwolf, Direwolf (Giantsgall duplicate), Owlsight/Owlliege; also got Garo weapon while later expansions missed out

Other: Senor Sabotender; there's also an odd mix of weapons from the Gold Saucer prize exchange that doesn't cover all weapons - MCH and DRK got them but AST didn't.

Overall it seems that there's no gradual decline, just a very enthusiastic early effort that got drastically toned down back in Shadowbringers and has stayed fairly stable since then. There are less dungeon weapons because there are less dungeons that give weapons in the first place, but then there's a building number of specific sources (deep dungeons and PVP) that are always made available to each new job as they are added.

Perhaps the feeling of "getting less" comes from there being a longer list of content that doesn't get weapons for the new jobs, even though the list of content that does is much the same as before.

There's still less being made when it comes to the content in general for all jobs. There has been a severe lack of the crafted weapons from ex mats. (Which was my other point)
