2 different bugs on Xbox Series S

TLDR; Crackling audio bug since Dawntrail update and sending messages often crashes my game since xbox release.

Hello, I'm fairly new player to FF14 playing on xbox. In my time playing since it's release to my platform I've encountered 2 reoccurring bugs (that still haven't been fixed).

The first bug is more urgent in my opinion as it has to do with constant crackling audio that worsens when I get on my mount. I didn't have this issue prior to Dawntrail's release. I troubleshot my headphones, controller, and xbox and all come up with no issues. When I look up the problem the only relevant issue is from years ago on pc which has a fix I can't implement on console.

The second bug is less urgent because of how little it happens, but it happens nonetheless. Whenever I type in chat on xbox my usual digital keyboard appears on screen. As I press start to paste my message into the game from the digital keyboard this action often crashes my game. I'd say about 15-20% of the time it does this. I've opted to just not talk much, but I'd much rather be able to freely communicate to people in my parties.

Thank you for reading and please save me from my problems. <3

Good morning and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Forums.

We apologize for any inconvenience that has occurred when attempting to play FINAL FANTASY XIV on Xbox Series X|S. We would like to recommend the following below as it may resolve the issue:

    1) Clearing Cache on the Console:
    - Turn on the system and press the Xbox logo in the middle of your controller.
    - Scroll to the right to 'Profile & System'.
    - Select 'Settings' and click 'Devices & Connections'.
    - Navigate and click 'Blu-Ray', then, click 'Persistent Storage'.
    - Select Clear Persistent Storage.

    2) Power-cycle the Console:
    - Turn off the console and unplug all cords from the system.
    - Hold the power button for 10 seconds so the system will drain any stored power.
    - Then, re-plug the cords and restart the console
    - Attempt to start the client once again.

    3) Port-Forwarding the Xbox Series X|S:
    - Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened/forwarded/triggered:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

*This can be done by visiting www.portforward.com, locate your specific Router/Modem Brand and Model Number from the 'List of Routers', and you will find a step-by-step guide on how to access your ports.

With regards to your audio issues, there are a few situations that may be causing the error you are describing. Please try the following troubleshooting methods in order to resolve the issue:
    - Check if your audio is playing to the audio device(s) connected and playing to the audio device(s) that you prefer such as speakers or headphones.
    - In general we recommend updating your system and the game to the latest versions.
    - If possible, please try using different earphones, headphones, and/or speakers to see if the issue persists.
    - You may want to try plugging the audio output into different ports (both front and back) to see if one of them recognizes the speaker/headphones/earphones and allows you to use it within the game.
    - Change 'Listening Position' to 100. Navigate to the 'System Configuration' in-game, select 'Sound Settings', towards the top select the previously mentioned setting.
    - Disable all other device drivers, leaving the mouse, keyboard, and audio device as the only devices active.
    - Cap FPS, if the FPS in-game is not yet capped please try capping it.

In regards to my crashing issue I have attempted every solution you've mentioned and still it persists.

    As for my audio issues:
    - The audio is playing through my headset.
    - All pieces of hardware and the game is up to date to the latest versions.
    - FF14 is the only game I've experienced this audio bug with. Every other game and program has not had this issue. The problem is not my headset.
    - My controller only has 1 port and I can hear the audio, but the issue persists.
    - With listening position at 100 the issue persists.
    - I do not have a mouse, keyboard, or any other device outside of my controller.
    - Capping my FPS to 30 not only didn't solve the issue, but I'd much rather deal with this god forsaken audio bug than play this game in 30 FPS.

None of my issues have been solved. The issue is not with my hardware. Please fix your game. Thanks.

i have the same sound bug problem on Series S tried different headsets and controllers and the problem still persists.

it's definitely a xbox issue i have played the game on PC for years without the sound bug issue and own dawntrail on both xbox and pc and it's only happening on xbox.

Good morning and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Forums.

If the in-game music or sound effects are not being played back properly, it is possible that the sound files have either been corrupted or that there is an issue with a sound-related peripheral device or the driver software. Please try these troubleshooting steps to see if they resolve the issue:

    1. Check various configuration settings for FINAL FANTASY XIV
Check to see if playback of any sounds has been turned off via the in-game menus.

    2. Check the connection between the audio output equipment (TV, speakers, receiver, etc.) and the Xbox Series X|S.
If the issue is temporary, unplugging the device and restoring the connection may resolve the issue.

    3. Check the audio output settings
Check your audio output settings by selecting Profile & system → Settings → General → Volume & audio output.

The audio output settings for Final Fantasy XIV Online are as follows:
    2ch LPCM
    5.1ch LPCM
    5.1ch DTSDigital Surround
    5.1ch DolbyDigital

    4. Reinstall FINAL FANTASY XIV Online
If the installed data has been corrupted, the issue may be resolved by reinstalling the game.

We hope the information provided is helpful, thank you once more for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums!

I habe the same issues on the xbox series x. It's the ambient noise. And it doesn't matter whether I use a headset or the sound from the TV.
