i don't think the dev team realizes the damage they are doing with this by insisting on keeping these restrictions in place.

It took them years to address the dogpiling Aether issue with this change. Clearly they weighed the options and decided the damage these restrictions would do is less damage to the game than leaving most DCs a dead husk. Look around, outside of this thread which isn't even that active, there's hardly any complaint across the community. It seems most people are enjoying their servers being alive again. The game did just fine before DC travel ever existed, it's not going anywhere over these travel restrictions.

if it was "fine" before DC travel, what is the point of even introducing it in the first place? so we can actually play with friends on different DCs so we wouldn't have to pay for xfers or just making another character on that DC in the first place. that is the whole point of the system. that and the failure to put in a solution to ppl dogpiling as you put it on aether with DC travel is a failure on SEs part since the people that do manage to squeeze in the DC in the mornings to Aether just AFK just so they don't have to fight to get back in with the timer removed, so this isn't the solution you think it is. if it's such an issue, DC travel wouldn't be re-enabled to aether even in its restricted state. and only NA is affected with this. and to top it off, EU/JP would have these same restrictions in place yet only NA is affected with any lockdowns/restrictions on character creations and DC travel restrictions. yet they were fully enabled some time ago on both the EU and JP regions.

not all of us raid and all of my own friends happened to be on Aether when i myself joined FF14 recently here, and being unable to create a character as is on that DC with it being locked off AND restricted to top it off, i have to make each and every one of them travel to me here on primal when it would be easier just to have myself go to them to hang out and have them play with me or anything else for that matter even for something as simple as wanting to show me their house but not being able to due to restrictions . the fact that we have to jump through hoops to do so for a game we pay for every 2 yrs on top of a monthly sub to not be able to play with those friends, we have every right to want the restrictions removed. all this is is a hinderance on the social aspects of the game is more damaging than you think or even want to admit. just because you don't have a problem with it doesn't mean we don't and wont stop voicing it til it gets removed and get to play with friends again without going out of our way in doing it.

You're right, if it were up to me I'd disable DC travel entirely. Limiting the number of people who can hop over is the next best thing. It's not a perfect solution, but it's better than every other DC being dead as they were before.

I never said you don't have the right to fight for what you believe in. Fight for whatever you want. My previous post was addressing your claims that the devs an unaware of the negative effects these restrictions are having and that the game is going to die because of them, both of which are ridiculous.

You're right, if it were up to me I'd disable DC travel entirely. Limiting the number of people who can hop over is the next best thing. It's not a perfect solution, but it's better than every other DC being dead as they were before.

the devs are very unaware of the damage this does for social aspects of the game. many of us just want to hang out with our friends and other people. hence to be social. we aren't raiders by a long shot. the fact that we're punished for using a system the devs implemented to begin with for a game we pay for on top of a monthly sub for lengthy periods is a damaging aspect for the social scene.doesn't change the fact of the negative impact this does have for the social aspect of the game regardless if you even want to admit it or not. the whole point of DC travel as i stated was to hang out with our friends and other people in different DCs. If its such an issue, SE/CBU3 should not have implemented it to begin with. we should not be punished for using a system THEY implemented. the restrictions is doing more harm than good socially for an MMO, which by default, encourages people be social in one aspect of the game or another.

and as someone else is bringing up, and its a very good point. the "problem" you keep wanting to bring up just happens to move to primal (SURPIIIIIIISE) instead of aether so maybe you aren't the genius you think you are. so lets stop kidding yourself here, the only reason you don't want these restrictions lifted is that you don't want to lose primal being the defacto "hub" now for raiding since aether is so inaccessible to most.

So the problem has now moved to primal instead of aether since thats where everyone is piling up now

Just say that you only care about yourself since you're on primal and you're all happy now since primal is packed, while dc's like crystal or dynamis still have 0 content because this whole fake congestion thing isnt helping either of those DC's, at least be honest with yourself and stop pretending you care about "dc's health" and other people in general, you only care about yourself and your own DC.
