Because the point is that, as hard of a pill as it may be to swallow, your friendships don't matter. The vast majority of people are not going to uninstall the game just because they can't play with a friend. You'd faster make an alt than quit the game. Most people would rather make a new static, than quit the game. So from a business perspective, when they are seeing community goals and content health not met, mass segregation happening in multiple regions, they have hardware being overly stressed, investing millions to obtain new infrastructure to help relieve it, and the community says "f*** your investments, I want to play where I want with my friends", what did you think the response would be? You're going to bark on the forums and social media about losing your friends and static, the same way that people had barked and complained /for years/ about the things that just got fixed finally because they cut off travel. Your friendships is not at the top of their priority list. So speaking on behalf of the suits at SE, you can take that "kindly piss off" and look in the mirror. Because everyone that dealt with a dead party finder and roulette, dead venues, dead open world for years, is finally happy. At the end of the day, they were more important than you.
