It's broken. DC travel wasn't ready.

Put me back in DC travel jail. I can't get out of this stupid queue.

Yeah, I've been stuck trying to DC travel queue, I can't get out of DC travel queue. I've been here for over an hour, getting booted every 2-15 minutes. It's frankly kinda terrifying to not even be able to say "never mind" and back out. I just want to play the game with my friends. I'm not trying to go to a big venue, or a crowded server, I'm just trying to get to Maduin in Dynamis, it's normally a ghost town. This really feels like Square just did not realize what bottlenecking the servers like this would do. It's not like we ever evenly distributed across all the servers, but this really does not feel like it has made it any better.

1 hour and 37 minutes later, finally back home. Considering I had plans for maps and doing more content with my friend, who had to make their character on Dynamis because of the stupid congested rules to begin with, now I'm going to have to reschedule a lot to avoid dedicating nearly 2 hours to just praying for a function to work.

My static has people on three different data centers. Two of them took an hour to get over to Dynamis (where we planned to gather) and the others still haven't even gotten over. It's frustrating to know that we probably won't be able to raid tonight and I just hope this gets reversed before the week's out.

Some of you sound like genuinely miserable, friendless people. God forbid people have made friends and relationships with people cross server and want to travel for raiding. This was the worst time and worst way to implement these arbitrary population restrictions. It’s like absolutely no thoughts went into this before implementing it.

Exactly! Someone's picking a fight with me on this exact point and I won't entertain it. Sorry some of us have friends we want to see by using the system the game put in place. Apparently we should have known better and we actually deserve to be stuck in login purgatory, because having friends is somehow rigging the system. This was a huge blunder, no other way around it.

I noticed that, as well as the person who had been going on about how the DC system should be shut down. Do these people even hear what they're saying? This game is shockingly the first time I've had friends and stable RP in years, so forgive me for being upset for separating me from them.

Not to mention that they've split the server/dc's before. So prior you might have been on Zalera which was iirc on Primal (where youve made friends) originally and then got moved to Zalera now on Crystal.

I can empathize with that being frustrating in the short term. If it's due to a bug, I'm sure it'll get fixed. If it's due to congestion, it'll work itself out. Not a big deal in the long run, and the long run is much healthier with this change than without. Unsurprisingly a lot of people can't see past their own nose when it comes to what's best for everyone in the game and not just themselves and their buddies.
