Question, why not use one of the couple of current, active threads instead of bumping one that has been dead for over a month?
Question, why not use one of the couple of current, active threads instead of bumping one that has been dead for over a month?
Because two weeks is not a month and those threads are discussing different issues. I'm talking about DC travel restrictions, I would be fine staying on Dynamis if restrictions were lifted, other threads are talking about party finder and population issues.

Welp I finally reached my limit of just not being able to do the main thing I pay for this game for (raiding in pf). I'm now an Aether resident. Gave up years of history, friends, a community that I felt a connection with, a private house, an fc house, and an fc. All because I simply could not play the game as a crystal resident. Congrats square enix, you squeezed an extra couple bucks out of me.
And just to kick me in the nuts, I had to spend hours clearing out my private estate, apartment, and fc room's furnishings and storage just to discard or sell all the items because I can't just give up the room and choose to discard all my furnishings at once, I had to do it one by one by one. At least maybe now I can play the game again.
EDIT: wanted to add, but the thing that pisses me off most is that I felt like I was forced into making this choice just because I happened to start on the same dc as my real life friends years ago. There was no way I could have known I would have enjoyed raiding when I started so I couldn't have just "picked the raiding dc", and dc travel wasn't even out yet so I couldn't have predicted any of this. I just wanted to try the game my friends played like anybody would, and ended up feeling like my hand was forced into giving up a lot of the secondary things I like about the game in order to play the main content I enjoy. At least now with my house gone I don't feel any pressure to keep my sub going, so I can finally turn my auto renewal off.

This really does kinda resonate with me. I moved to aether a couple years ago to raid and it turned out to be the worst decision I ever made, but I made a lot of friends over there. Come dawntrail I decided to move back to primal because I have a lot of history there. I expected dc travel to shut down yeah but man, I thought I'd be able to go back and check in on my friends a little while after launch. 6 months goddamn later, a lot of those friendships withered away because there's no convenient way to hang out, and I'm sitting here wondering if I should've just stuck it out in aether.Welp I finally reached my limit of just not being able to do the main thing I pay for this game for (raiding in pf). Used to decorate my large FC house on Aether for the holidays and invite all my other friends I've made across different DCs over.
Not even sure what the point is of doing it this year.
If I want to play with my half my friends, I can't be on Aether, which also means no access to retainers and timed nodes. If I want to play on my Dynamis alt, I have to move her to Primal for the chance to do anything. So it's like both of the servers I play on are punishing me now.
Yeah, I'm still mad. I log in to raid with my static (who all have to go to Primal just to meet up and be on the same DC) and that's it, because there sure isn't much else to do socially for me.

Another day, another full gridlock when I try to go to Aether to join one of my statics. This is ridiculous.
Wanted to add my voice to the masses, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LIFT THE BAN TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS ALREADY !!! It sucks so much that my only choices are to move and lose my house i've put so much love into decorating or literally never use it because everyone i know has moved to a different server due to the ban. Please. Its getting ridiculous.
From an RP point of view, its really doing ALOT of damage. Venues on balmung, barely see any use now-- actual rp venues-- .
Please lift the restrictions, or make it so that people get booted after 24 hrs !! PLEASE.
Traveler's come to balmung and sit afk for days, and us locals who use it for RP purposes venue or other wise, are literally suffering for it.
I'd love to be able to show my friends my house and travel from server to serve like PRE- DT once more
i thought this was a temporary thing?? please lift it !!
Sorry, I had to do it.
But seriously, though, why does it have to be Balmung? None of these servers have labels and distinctions. The players made them up, and the prophecy fulfilled itself.
I joked and misquoted you as a lark, but I would be cool with more restrictions to DC travel. Maybe a 1 hour timer, and then you're forcibly moved back to your home server. You can't buy or trade. You can't make your own PF groups.
It doesn't take a genius level IQ to see how unrestricted activities can be abused.
My server is dead. Y'all killed it. I know I'm not DC traveling, so I don't know what to tell people? I'm doing my part and not making it worse.
You need to raid/RP do it on your home server. Do the leg work instead of abusing a clealry broken system.
All you (the playerbase) do is wine and cry. Use that energy in a positive way and grow it on your own server.

"You haven't proven that it is safe, you've (only) proved that you can't figure out how it's dangerous."
Came back again for the free 4 days and yep, again, dynamis is a ghost town and other DCs are congested and unable to travel to them during prime time.
I love taking 40 minutes per roulette to get a duty and not being able to move DCs because SE sets an arbitrary limit on the percentage of players who can be congregated on the only DCs able to get queue pops
I am not knocking you at all, but what time are you trying to transfer over, and to what DC? I've been able to move over throughout the whole day to Aether and Primal (haven't tried Crystal) with no issue. I would like to see the issue for myself.Came back again for the free 4 days and yep, again, dynamis is a ghost town and other DCs are congested and unable to travel to them during prime time.
