[Feedback] Data Center Travel Changes

It is actually impossible to fill a whole c41 group in any other data center. TEA groups would take a while to fill in aether, but they filled nonetheless. But in Primal, Crystal or Dynamis? It is impossible. You’ll at max get 3 people.

Now this I could tell was legit feedback because I remember a youtube video of a guy who tried to rush a TEA clear in a week and was spending like 3-6 hours waiting in queue on Aether but eventually got in on certain days. However, in said video there is one point of hope. Some discord/group of people that get people clears after they reach a certain prog point - 17:00 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctLjmUnIPNY. I checked the site and they're currently doing M1-M4 but if they eventually free up later or have something in the discord for Ult's specifically, it might be useful in the future assuming you can take a work day off since everything is pre-planned and you have a much higher chance to clear that day as opposed to needing several days if you were taking off work just to do PF. Other than that, I can only think of a few things:

1) camping Aether. sign in at 4AM and afk your character on console or pc since they removed the 30min timer with the last patch
2) gil tossing (which isn't a thing for 99% of players to be able to spend 50-100mil on buying pre-cleared raiders to prog with them)
3) waiting for them add the new jobs to old ultimates which would cause a spike in ultimate content in PF
4) you can try contacting @KihraOfTemerity (log site person) and seeing if they might add a PF like recruitment to Tomestone. It was a site that allowed people to advertise their prog points so I'd assume there might be a way for people to individually find/make a linkshell with people at the same prog point as them. Have informal statics that could be made temporarily.

Other than that, I am unfortunately out of ideas T_T

Update: Balmung is at visitor cap even when classified for Standard visitor capacity instead of Reduced. Since traveler cap is the same regardless of individual classification, only difference is creating an alt works, and pre-parking is easier. Traveling in prime time still impossible.

It quite literally is possible lmao, it might take a bit yeah, but it's easily-ish doable. Takes about 20 to 25 mins top, did it myself yesterday before transfers opened.

Also I sincerely hope that you understand them opening balmung isnt the W you seem to think it is to prove your point.

And yet now it's totally fine again apparently since instead of housing it's just world visit / dc travel.

Weird how that works, but hey, I cant wait for the old housing to come back since apparently now it's okay !

I'm sorry, do you want to list the 7 data centers that benefitted from the old housing system like how every DC besides the superservers weren't having problems before EW?

And I sincerely hope that you understand that them opening Balmung was a slap to the face to anyone on Aether knowing [censored] well ain't no way all 8 worlds on Aether are more populated than Balmung. All they did was flip the 4 worlds on each data center that were congested, there's no way that perfect flip was data driven and that type of flip has never happened in the history of congestion changes recently (I'd know considering I've checked it for the last 2 years for when I create pvp alts and retainers and free shipments to other data regions). You can't say with a straight face that Goblin is more congested than Balmung. Which means, if they are willing to ignore data and open up a world, 1) either the data says Aether needs to be locked. or 2) the data says Aether can be unlocked and they just hate people being there. There's no interpretation of that patch that is a sign of hope for Aether.

XD Yeah, I love attempting over and over again to DC/World Travel. It's not going to get easier now that people can just camp. SE really doesn't seem to know what they're doing.

I did notice that they at least took away locking people out of logging into a world they successfully traveled to, so that's a good sign. Starting to wonder if this is a one-time thing that only happens after expac launches. If that's the case, then I think they need to be more transparent about it, instead of, you know, dropping it on us Day 1 with no notice.

we have a *lot* of new people so wipes are bound to happen. Not that I blame folks for being new to the game, but it feels like I keep getting volunteered to play Mentor without any of the perks, lol. We also have had more than a few people from A/P/C who act rudely during PVE content because it's obvious they're only here due to log-in congestion, and take their annoyance out on us even though they didn't *need* to come here.

Yep. I got tam-tara hard yesterday and had some wipes due to not soaking circles and a ifrit trial where i had explain tank stance and the nail mechanic. definitely depends on where you land in the roulette whether you get og players or legit sprouts. I was actually looking at some data from a JP guy who runs a survey/data scrape from lodestone on character statistics. Had active players for every data region classified and was thinking about how the devs might've interpretted the numbers for future adjustments.

It was interesting to see how Seraph is almost nearly a regular world for NA and Hali is borderline almost the same population as a JP world at least. Just the others have been lacking traffic at all. They slowed down Seraph as congested which makes sense now since they don't want that disparity even worse, so the question is if Hali and Kraken might be next to get congested marker after they hit a similar territory if they're the next fastest growing and they want to fill out the other dynamis worlds. But, Dynamis as a whole growing faster than the other DC's on NA is a good sign at least.

And the last shot I had of JP PF from that evened out bit he talked about had their 4 data centers like this (the 150 dip is Elemental, the primary English DC for JP):


It took Mana on full congestion status of like a year before they reached that and now Mana is finally coming off that recently after Dawntrail. So I'm wondering if that's the goal before Aether opens up, how long it'll take NA to make that adjustment.

A good sign... maybe? But it also makes the problem worse, as people can now just camp without issue. And no, "just camp yourself" is not the answer... It'd just contribute to the problem.

They still made everything worse than it was before.
