you are literally describing yourself when you say "typical holier than though" stuff. you came in here punching down on everyone and thats literally all you do on here and on twitter. i mean you started talking like an anime villain because you took a joke about wuk lamat seriously. i need you to have some self awareness, baby.
i'm on my knees begging, crying, for you to understand that nobody wants to have a measuring contest with you. we do not care that you know some guy that owned a venue or your "philanthropic" endeavors for the poor, poor, players with no gil. it has nothing to do with data center travel and youre just making a fool of yourself.

So despite you typing paragraphs on paragraphs about insults and woo woo woo, you still recognize I'm more experienced than these people if I'm punching down. You realize half these comments wouldn't exist if these randoms humbled themselves and realized maybe they don't know everything and get into the facts of the lodestone messages, behaviors of developers on other games, and the community in general instead of getting into a "who are you/you're just a meanie" argument that they were bound to lose. May I remind you, that me having alts, that me having houses, had nothing to do with data center travel and got brought up by other parties for insults. And I can tell they don't lead a community because they'd rather toss insults and start a hate campaign with 4k+ followers (which no leader would do ever and is the reason they have no support in doing so because rp community rule #1 - don't harass people), instead of coming to me and asking if I'd donate my properties to a community, if I'd help them rebuild. They're not looking to go forward, we're just crying and being petty at this point. Probably because they fell into one of the categories I mentioned, and I'm sorry if that was a tough pill for them to swallow and they want to backlash. I'm not fixing to sit here and bring 10-20+ people into the thread to argue about good and bad venues and who should and shouldn't exist, when their community is just going to die and others are going to live, and they will see the community choose that on their own. 100%, communities are being crippled, but more importantly, is that you are seeing tests of loyalty and experience. Communities that are not important enough to people, that are not supported enough, that have inexperienced management will fall.

And they proved my exact point earlier, anytime someone with resources, no matter what they use it for, will always be harassed and assumed for malicious intent regardless of how they use it. A'leycat 2.0 just saw a prime reason why people don't support the community. People don't have gil because they burn bridges with people that can help them get it. People don't have housing and resources to help their community because they burn bridges with people that can help them get it. The community has always ran off of self-work of a few members, donations, and sponsors primarily because the root community does not play enough of the game itself to have the resources themselves. While everyone else was tossing insults about my alts and bozja, saying I have no life, what did 1 normal person in the thread do? They said, "hey, can you help me? i need x." But I'm not talking to normal people in this thread primarily, I'm talking to people in the stages of grief/shock displaying emotion instead of discussing solutions other than praying to the Twelve.

I'm not sure what all those paragraphs about places and people I've never heard of had to do with the topic of the thread, but pivoting back to the topic of the thread:

The cap on travelers and wanderers is currently too low for the multiple communities in the game to thrive. The raiding scene, RP community, and night club crews are only three different communities within this game.

Unfortunately, this is a case where a fix for a problem spawned many, many, many more problems, most of them social and activity focused, in a game that relies on social and activity to retain players.

It wasn't for you. It was for the other person that wanted to have a conversation that had nothing to do with the the topic of the thread that did recognize several of the names.

Those many, many, many more problems were all things that contributed to the initial problem. You can't fix a problem without addressing what caused it, so this is a bit redundant. Thrive is going to be subjective on rp/night clubs given that they were able to cap buildings before DC Travel even existed in the game as well as Balmung existing and having its entire reputation well before DC Travel. Raiding was killed on 3 data centers for the sake of Aether so thriving isn't an argument there. You're going to need to give an example of thriving that doesn't involve the possibility of people dogpiling on one world/data center.

first off: i do not see you as more experienced. i think you're kind of a freak, but i find you strange and kinda funny.

second: this should not cause you to make an anime villain speech about how nobody appreciates you for giving them virtual currency. it's very strange and, i genuinely mean this as actual advice, think you should get help. mmos are supposed to be fun, not cause this sort of distress. And even more so you shouldn't rest your ego entirely on this game. so go outside for a walk. pet an animal. just hit the bricks and log off for a little bit, man.

This is the worst change they've made since I've started playing this game 4 years ago. During the first week of savage I spent 2-6 hours a day spamming log in queues non-stop with almost no breaks, meanwhile my friends were showing me there was a queue of like 20 players on the world for aether. I would have much rather sit through a 3000 player queue that randomly kicks you out, because that only requires interaction when it does kick you out and it does get you through eventually. Me and my friends almost didn't clear savage week 1 entirely due to these changes and we were stressing out about trying to log in for raid. We've since had to move our reclear times to 3AM instead of 9PM because thats the only time we can comfortably log in and play together.

It's appeared to have improved since the initial launch but its current state is still unacceptable and its causing issues even for players native to their data centers. I'm on crystal and I can't even go to Balmung, not being able to go to Aether was bad but I'm not even safe on my own data center. Another friend of mine spent 3 hours trying to transfer onto balmung today too. I would much rather get randomly kicked out of the game or even have servers crash due to congestion than have these changes in place, with the current design I wouldn't be surprised if people were rule breaking to stay logged in defeating some of the purpose this update was meant to prevent. This is definitely a case of them trying to be too safe for their own good.

I also want to know why they decided the worst possible time to implement these changes, on the start of a savage tier is the MOST important time to be able to data center travel, if they're gonna test out experimental changes like this it should really be done on some casual patch like patch 7.1, That way they could at least see how awful it gets implemented and fix it before ultimate comes out, and most people would have done their BiS from savage reclears by then. It's been 2 weeks now with no response on this thread and I'm afraid that nothings going to be done and that its just gonna be ignored, and people will accept this change despite it being a daily inconvenience to thousands of players.

If anyone is trying to log in spam I highly recommend changing your title screen to ARR/HW/etc. as that will let you get to character select faster than the dawntrail title screen.

This is such a gross simplication that I can't tell if it's a bait or if you just don't know the inner workings and semi-dark underlying purpose of venues as a whole because the only way I can answer/reply to why that simplication is wrong is to put people's mental health in the community on blast. The bare surface/public reason for venues existing, is actually not the reason the most passionate people delve into it. Same goes for roleplay. People simplify and say "to have fun", but what that entails for a good chunk of the community, what they are escaping from, is a lot more concerning and is not what most people would assume. Like this is not a conversation to be had on the forums. Especially knowing people are linking this thread on twitter, I don't want to be openly talking about trigger subjects without reason. Like I am genuinely the last person you should be concerned about.

As for my ego, my ego does not rest entirely on this game. I have higher accomplishments irl and on other games. This game, is a retirement for me. One online cog, in a lot of other online cogs, that benefit the irl cog on occasion. This game does not know what economic competition looks like, they do not know what PvE competition looks like. This is not a game to build ego on because noone here in the general community is competitive by my standards. The only people that give me a resemblance of old peaks/competition I'm used to, are the people I know that can make 2-4bil a week. That are 4x the monster that I am currently. People don't need to be worried about my ego, they should be worried about the people I'm humbled by, that I don't even try because I've seen them toss tens of thousands irl to destroy markets across multiple regions far worse than anything I did and had Square shift protocol just for them. I haven't had that type of power to press a game studio directly in a long time. When you can cause extra hirings, permanent patch changes, and features to be removed from the game permanently, that's when you can have an ego, when you left a permanent mark on the game and they personally marked you as a threat above everyone else. When Square Enix tells you to touch grass, that's when you know you peaked and you were a problem. And I know 2 people that have reached that point that are ban on sight if Square finds them. I'm one of the tamer "freaks" you will get to interact with, even within the venue community. Not even getting into the owners that are willing to commit felonies or did in the past for the sake of their ego.
