[Feedback] Data Center Travel Changes

Yeah. I knew a few people who moved to Dynamis because they could always DC travel and get to places on Crystal. With these silly restrictions, they are mostly all planning on moving back to Crystal ASAP.

Personally, I wouldn't move to Dynamis even if SE reverts the change at this point. There will always be a chance in the future they do this again or implement some other poorly thought out idea and you're stuck again until however long it takes them to care. They're very quick to implement stuff like this, but it'll take them half a year or more to revert it. This is assuming they aren't stubborn about it and simply refuse to change it back.


Thinking about it: Housing is at the root of a lot of the problems with server populations. Since they're so difficult to get, no one with a house is ever going to want to move. This also means a lot of older, popular hangout spots are in those original servers too. Even people without houses will want to go the original server if it's a spot they link to hangout at, rp, whatever.

The server populations will never spread out until SE adds instanced housing, which would move with you to new servers. But it's been like a decade and they haven't cared to do anything meaningful about that, so I doubt it's happening. This game just does everything possible to make it really hard to play with friends sometimes.

This just sums up SE's failures and poor thinking.

Every expansion there's a fiasco somewhere. First, we had the instance fiasco with stormblood. Then we had the housing lotto fiasco on EW, that made people unable to bid for houses for a month or so, and now we have the DC restrictions because its "not an issue on JP"

Dynamis is a trap. Don't go there. New players shouldn't buy the game in NA. It's THAT bad. Just a write off game at the moment, complete waste of a data center. They should have just added a couple servers to each existing data center in the first place instead of this mistreatment, gitgud squenix.

He's been over the top and lying the whole time. Kid sat here and posted a picture of being role #15 in line for healer in alliance raids as if that doesn't indicate there's a giant population of people doing said content and he has to wait his turn. If it was actually dead it'd be 30+ minutes with noone in line because they quit. For that many people to be in line, that means the number is moving and going down. Kid posts a PF screenshot at 3AM when people are asleep or on other data centers visiting friends because congestion has ended by that time period, meanwhile me and others regularly see Dynamis at 40-60 PF's during the actual day. He's literally looking for any reason to complain at all. If he's complaining about PF at 3AM, I doubt he's even supposed to be playing on our data region to begin with. You wouldn't find people running content that late unless you were in EU/JP time zones. 12-3AM is not a time period most games would even have an expectation of a lot of activity going on.

That's like complaining about weaving and you're choosing to play on a 350 ping server you're not supposed to be at.

Yeah, I was more or less saying that in a nice way. I've been on Dynamis (Seraph) since late June. Primarily playing in downtime hours and morning peak (midnight to noonish central time). Outside of Frontline roulette, I've had no trouble getting into any content whatsoever, whether it's 4~5am or fresh after daily reset. Frontlines tho, after 1am, you might as well not bother till reset, lol. Everything else is golden though.

PF is pretty active too. Not as active as the other three, obvs. But it's not dead.

Can you sign into Dynamis and mention that in shout chat next time I'm farming so I can add you to the word document I keep of old screenshots of people saying they reported me. I was going through my ShareX and phone a few days ago for when I make a carrd dating all of them so I can just link it in my alts' search infos next time someone thinks they know ToS better than me xD
