[Feedback] Data Center Travel Changes

Just cause you live on an empty server doesn't mean every raider should suffer for it. There is nothing wrong with people wanting to be on active servers & they have no obligation to do otherwise. The only permanent solution is to make cross-DC parties, then it won't matter where people are or what server they choose to make a character on.

I'd say if Sqenix was to go for megaserver technology, they should make sure blacklisting is solid. Game I fled from didn't have full blacklisting and a megaserver system so needless to say it kept throwing me with people I was blacklisted with in open world zones.

But regardless of that, these current issues need to be fixed.

I don't think FF14 would ever want to have megaserver technology given the population numbers. Just on average, If I was to assume 20 players during prime hours in Limsa, and you had that for 32 worlds, I would not want to think of having over 600 characters on my screen in a small area. I wouldn't be able to see anything at all. I would not want to think of hunt trains of 400+ people trying to kill the same mob and someone didn't have their effects turned down. I would not want to think of dealing with 1 marketboard that was combined and dealing with bots crashing every market that much easier. I also would not want to think of a 300+ Other Tab for venues because all 4 data centers are competing now and trying to spam PF's to stay at the top. I do not want to think of a 200+ savage PF list to cyphen through to decide what to join. Crystalline Conflict would be better and worse because ranked would be harder to wintrade inside of, but casual sync'ing with friends would be near impossible and the trolls/griefers/queue problems from one data center would have free reign on all of them. Currently it's a pick your poison for what data center you queue on. Housing would be a massive dumpster fire to combine, shout chat advertising being combined of all 4 data centers would be a dumpster fire.

It's laughable how bad these changes are. I manage to get into an Aether server, then it tells me basically to go back where I came from, because it's too congested for me to log in. Okay? Why let me transfer then?

Then I can't transfer to a different data center for an unknown time period. So I'm just stuck? What a trash system. I guess the only option is to go back to my home world server and have no chance to play with my friends. Functional system.

I've sent many tickets at this point, related to this topic. It's so unfortunate that we are dragging this issue from an expansion to another.
As raider from Primal, it's awful to not enjoy the endgame content as they should because of this matter. Primal used to have MANY parties to prog fights and on. Because of the DC travel, people keep moving to Aether to raid and honestly I don't blame them. Either you try to move to Aether, or you will take forver to fill your party on PF. YES, yes, I know that we can always transfer if we are not happy with our DC. But what about my retainers? My FC? Friends? My mansion, my house? Do we really need to make a choice here? How many savage tiers do we need to have to find a solution?

Made a forum account just to reply to this thread. These changes have been nightmarish for people across DCs--I know people who have encountered issues traveling to every data center.

If these changes aren't reversed, I will be permanently unsubbing. This is unacceptable. It didn't work for the housing system, and it sure as hell isn't working for DC travel. They may as well just shut down DC travel completely at this point. Like, I'd rather wait in a 500+ queue than aggressively and desperately clicking through the world travel menu Praying that maybe it'll let me in.

This is the funny part to me. Seeing so many people talking as if they're going to quit content or abandon 4-10 years of playing the game before using Party Finder on their home data center is just a little /too/ wild for me to believe. I don't take half of these comments seriously because they sound exagerrated as hell and spoiled/selfish. Yoshi P smacking people in the back of the head and saying "raid where you are" is the funniest interaction I've seen in a second and shows the maturity difference between JP and NA/EU since they're adjusting better.

I would certainly love to use PF on my home DC! Too bad the parties never fill. Friends and I sat for two hours last week waiting for an EX2 farm party to fill, and it literally never did. Sat at 5/8, for two hours. So please, tell me, how am I supposed to use PF on my home DC when PFs never fill?

You were running extreme on a savage content release window where most of the people who qualify for an extreme farm would be running savage.
