Ruined BLM

I know I'm taking the bait, but that's fine:

I've been playing BLM since ARR, and it's always been my favorite class. Even when it has stumbled, it has always had an overall elegant design that I simply haven't been able to find in the other jobs.

Did I find Dawntrail's changes to BLM to be disappointing? Overall, yes. While there were some improvements in places, the class overall became more rigid, and that's the opposite of what I wanted.

But have things become so bad that I'm abandoning the class? Absolutely not! For starters, there's nowhere else to go. I loved Endwalker BLM, and the closest thing to it that I can still play is Dawntrail BLM. And in spite of its blemishes, I'm still having a very nice time with it. And the more I play it, the more it's grown on me, despite the fact that I would still make some meaningful tweaks if I could. And just today BLM got some meaningful improvements, so if I was having a nice time with the job yesterday (I was) then today is going to be even better.

And as far as fights that make you run around go: BRING IT ON. In my opinion, BLM has far too many instant-casts, so the devs may as well encourage us to use them. And being forced to react to AoE's and the like is part of what makes me love playing BLM; the need to improvise while weighing various timers and opportunities stimulates my brain in a way that other classes have never been able to. I have zero problems with the current fight design.

To be clear, if your disappointment with the changes have made it so that you can't stand playing in anymore, that's fine. Emotions be like that sometimes. So if you're done with the class, that's your call to make.

I have given up on BLM completely with the DT changes.

Went to Picto and never looked back.
They went against anything that made BLM what it was and while the return of Ice Paradox (funny how they bring something back some people were adamant as not being needed with the changes) and the change of Umbral soul are nice it's not enough for me.
Thunder in this form is stupid, Flare is still a joke and the animations and effects are extremely underwhelming.
Even the fights are more unforgiving then before.

As long as that job stays this rigid and unflexible I give it the could shoulder.
Let it rot for all I care because the devs don't anymore, maybe if enough people quit it we will see a change or not.

Maybe 8.0 brings something good till then I stay with my brush and maybe level BLM in Frontlines if I even bother at all.
I even had a keychain of the job stone in my car but that was thrown into the trunk of my car somewhere...

What I don't get is why these changes now are braking the camels back because they actually revert some of the bad stuff tbh but whatever.

I wasn't aware that I was on the design team, or that I had any part to play in the changes made. I was very vocal about how much I like the class exactly as it was in Endwalker. Could you elaborate on this?

Is it because of Non-standard? because I never used it, and they didn't need to change nearly as much as they did to break non-standard.
