I still get what I wanted, a fast paced dual wielding swordsman. I went from playing Viper since Day 1 of early access to leveling Dragoon and Reaper, and OMG they are so slow! When I switch back to Viper, I realize how much more fun I'm having. Maybe play something else for a while if you haven't already, and go back to Viper. You might come to the same realization.
It doesn’t feel the same. The rotation is follow follow follow the yellow button road now when previously you could move things around depending on what the boss was doing. Applying noxious to dungeon bosses/trash wasn’t even that hard, you just had to cancel your single target rotation with an aoe en route. It just feels bad and significantly worse especially below level cap, which is a common complaint about new jobs.

Edit: please note I am not discussing difficulty.
