The viper changes make me want to stop playing

I have been playing FFXIV since Shadowbringers and I have never once considered stopping. On the lead up to Dawntrail I was so excited to try out viper and talked about it so much that it became a meme in my friend group that they made the class for me. When i finally got my hands on it during early access I couldn't have been happier, I had found my class that I really wanted to main after spending so many years bouncing between classes and never really fully finding my "canon class" for my WOL. Viper made playing this game more fun than it had ever been for me.

Unfortunately I woke up this morning to see the patch notes and found my favorite class to be gutted of all the things that made it unique and fun. The job has been reduced to nothing but switching between your two combos with no thought. It has become melee summoner levels of thinking required. It was a gut wrenching feeling upon logging in and trying it. I had found my favorite class in the game and I barely got to play it for a month. There feels like there is no nuance to the class, rather than adjust the positionals (which also wasn't needed but that's besides the point) like they said they would they reworked the whole class into nothing.

I hope this gets rolled back. I am unsure if I will unsub over this, it may be a knee jerk reaction. Then again this was clearly a knee jerk reaction to rework it.

A knee jerk reaction was unsubbing over removing damage type debuffs and aggro mechanics.

This has been a trend three expansions running and the train shows no signs of slowing down. Hop off the train.

Yes totally agree and share your feelings. You are not alone, a lot of people if not most of the people who play VPR as main share the same feelings about this patch.

I haven't played Viper at all yet, but I totally feel for people that are upset, and know you know how healers have felt for years now.

Are you being dense, or are you actually under the impression that this is the issue?
It's the gameplay decisions behind whether to reapply the buff at any given moment.
It was a fun part of the class, but now it has the same alternating style as the rest of the combo.

yeah i feel the exact same way and has the same story tbh. Dawntrail has been just one big mess and hope this is a learning experience. i dont think the info we give on the english forums will ever reach the devs but i do hope if enough people get fed up with this game they will notice. its all so fucked up man...
