4 hours of Aleport and absolutely no drops (helmets don't count of course).

    Jesus christ fix this shit.

Swap "Stupid helmet no one wants" drop rate with "Beastmen seal everyone needs" drop rate and you will make literally the entire playerbase 500% happier.

Though the competition was intense, I came in 3rd. My LS was happy to see their hard work pay off, one less person needing seals, leading to the ultimate goal of us earning our Relics.

Last night we were able to run 6 Hamlets before it became too late to keep going (my LS is only 'part-time' hardcore). Each of those 6 Hamlets were wins with scores greater than 60K.

From those 6 Hamlets, I received 1 seal, and 5 sets of Ebonknots. Not only was I shocked at such a result, my entire LS was rocked to their core. The hours of farming and buying provisions had all but been a waste.

I understand RNG, however I believe in a situation such as Hamlet where community effort is a must to succeed, why would there be such a brutal system in place to punish everyone? If it were just my supplies I would be the only person affected, but this goes beyond that.

I truely believe SE needs to re-look their drop rate on Top 3 Provisioners. If SE wishes us to play and function as a Community, by George they need to support their Community and reward their efforts from time to time. Had I known the Top 3 Provisioner RNG was so bad, I would've never even tried.

I can only hope I cam sneak out early from work today and PUG some Hamlet later. I don't want to let my friends down...
i solo'd a top3 spot, had server crashes all day & the gm contacted me in regards to screwing me on a few runs out of drops they had an auto responce that told me to go screw myself.

& you think you had it bad!! more proof all the gms need a brick upside the head & the development team as well or firing i dont care which, just shows how much they care, its the same team in charge of 2.0 which really makes me worry since know we all know what to expect from them "NOTHING"

Still no ones contacted me to sort out the rewards im owed

in case you all forget :

[dev1445] The concluding part of the quest “A Relic Reborn” has been added.
    * This repeatable quest is necessary to obtain special job-specific weaponry, and will require a great deal of time and dedication to complete.

Becomming a doctor requires a great deal of time and dedication. However, if it required 8 years of conducting the exact same ear examination on the same patient 20 times a day, I'm not sure many people would have the patience (nor would I trust such a person to be a good doctor).

To put another way: It's not the fact that time & dedications is needed, it's what you do with that time and how that dedication is shown.

Time investment/difficulty would be fine if it was tangible.

No one would mind having to get more seals if at the end of the day you could know that you had at least made some progress towards finishing instead of everyone having wasted their time.

You look at some of the responses and it looks like some people believe that we're asking to take their relics away from them.

All we really want is measurable/tangible progress so we can dedicate just as much time and effort into getting our stuff as you kids did but at our own pace over a longer period of time.

If you want to no life your content and get your swag in a week = fine and dandy, more power to you, you can be cool and badass before everybody else.

We want to slowly but surely advance towards our game goals without damaging our existence as functioning adults in today's society.

    also this.

Yoshida: Speed runs will remain in the game (for achievement purposes), however, they will no longer be necessary to obtain equipment upgrades. Expect the reward system for these runs to change greatly.

I agree with the OP Square-Enix has always said that they want all content to be accessable by the casual player. Seems to me like they increased their chances of getting more seals as much as they were able to and came off with 1/5 which is not good at all. I have been on runs where i was 8th on the list and been luckily rewarded with someone in my party getting a seal each run. People should not have to repeat this all day waiting for the payoff. I really feel for the people who are happily accepting this i wonder what they do in real life (running hamlet all day is not the way to live on game or out of it). On the plus side there is nothing in the game that requires these weapons right now. Considering 2.0 wont be ready for a while im sure by the time it is you will also have your relic and enjoyed real life at the same time unlike others.

if it takes an average of 100 hours to get your 9 seals, thats 100 hours, wether you do it 1 hour per day for 100 days or 10 hours a day for 10 days

but the issue here is with provisioning as per the thread title, the OP is mad cuz he didnt have time, and he feels he should get an increased drop rate due to not having time
Rather, the general feeling of the OP seems to be that the drop rate/requirements should be more tangible than rolling the dice.

this comes down to an arguement again of "why should we not benefit as much as those who play more then we do"

but the main solution was pointed out several times, and that is, if you dont have the time some others do, DO NOT DONATE and then whine about not having time to use it.

the donations are great to speed up those who have more time to be there(especialy if they are passing all other seals to others in the group cuz they know they will get all of theirs due to being a top 3)

but when it comes to people who only have time for 2-3 hamlets a week, should we really dumb it down and cater to them to make up for their lack of playtime?
It doesn't actually come down to that. It comes down to improving the basic structure of the system to be more friendly to players regardless of capacity to sit upon their keester for two to twelve hours at a whack.

I've got this feeling that the real disconnect here is between those players who simply want to have fun, and those players who are 'serious gamers'.

some people have these horror stories
then you got people like me who went 4/7 on them(yes, i got 4 seals)

my linkshell, in the course of 200 runs now has gotten around 100 or so seals total, its not too bad imo
some people just need to get over it and get to working instead of whining

How many of those were top provisioner, offhand? It isn't really relevant, but I am indeed curious.

theres alot more to the problem then what some people will lead you to believe, alot of the issue isnt on the game but the players playstyles

its not meant to be a fast and easy step to advance in, and that right there is a pure fact, and people dont want to accept it

What we have here is precisely the disconnect between the 'serious players' and the 'players' that I mentioned above. Vedis, you seem to be a 'serious player', looking down from your place atop the hill at the others who have legitimate complaints about the structure of the event (indeed, all events up to this point), and your only reaction is haughty dispassion. "Work harder, it isn't for everyone, only the best (read: those with minimal obligation in reality, or particularly flexible schedules) can achieve this."

There is no skill involved in this. Oh, yes, learning how to HamDef takes a few runs, and after that, it's gravy.

I say again, there is no great skill here - there is only time involved, and the time involved is poorly designed.

That you pride yourself on being a slave to the grind is not impressive, it's funny.

I look forward to the day sometime after 2.0 comes out and SE fixes everything (because 2.0 is magical). I'll be standing in town with my relic and armor, wearing the exact same stuff a "Hardcore" will be. Then his comment will switch to 'well i earned my relic PRE 2.0! Mines better".

Can't wait to see the thread on lodestone asking to separate achievements pre vs post 2.0.
